Sorry, blame Bush all you want, it's not his fault for OHIO's problems. Why is Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas just to name a few doing fine? Oh wait - Bush must like those states, but he hates Ohio, right?
Ohio is in the crapper, we are the next Michigan.
Tell me, where's our governor when 11,000 jobs being lost. Where's our governor when GM, Chrysler plants are getting shut down.
Everyone here complains about the gloomy grey skies here, if this state started to use it's head we'd be living in sunshine. But that won't happen. This state is on a rollercoaster ride down that's going to last ages. I don't see it getting better in my lifetime.

What Daytonnatian said. Naturally it's not that simple, but neither is it as simple as proclaiming that Ohio's problems are the fault of a Democratic governor who's been in office for less than two years. Ohio didn't start suddenly falling apart in January 2007.

I also said that we had mayors screwing the cities up too. When was the last time Ohio was a booming state? I mean, i'm talking about a good economy, people living in our CITIES (not suburbs, but cities), and people actually wanting to move here (population growth). Gosh, way too long for me to remember. We have too many people leaving our cities. Everyone in Cincinnati is moving to KY - be it NKY, Louisville gaining population. All you got to do is cross a bridge and you're out of this state to a better one. Ohio will never be a "thriving" state again. A casino won't help. Cincinnati building a new tower won't help. We're on a road to destruction. Actually we're already destructed, there's just no one to clean the mess up. I feel bad for people moving here. There are limited jobs, and many companies are laying off here, shutting down, or moving to another state. We have 11,000+ jobs lost. GONE!! All of our three big "C" cities have high crime rates and very weak economies.
Just read the thread "Leaving Ohio? Get in line" thread and see what people are saying, exactly what I am. Thankfully for all them, they've moved to better places and are happier now.

A different viewpoint here ...
IMO, you have two things that happened under "Democratic" rule that put the nail in the coffin for our current economic downfall. The Community Reinvestment Act that happened in the 1970's, amended by Clinton so that basically any person with a pulse could get credit or a loan. Also, Clinton's NAFTA forcing jobs to leave our country.
The constant blaming Bush for everything including the fact that your MIL hates you is just getting plain OLD. War has been a consistent event thoughout our civilization/existence; and the day there is no more War - there basically is no more US (meaning our World is OVER). The man basically started out with the worst terrorist act in US history taking place on US soil - is that GWB's fault? Clinton had 8 years to take care of Bin Laden & Hussein - but NO - he was too busy doing who the heck knows what in every room of the White House.
But seriously, we could sit here all day and get political if you will and blame whoever. Personally (financially) the Clinton years were great years for our family and the Bush years have been just as rewarding. I personally think its the people we elect locally that make the biggest impact on our lives and its the people of this country that make or break it. I think the PEOPLE of this country that could have said NO to easy credit and subprime loans are the VERY REASON our economy is in the toilet. I personally blame the citizens of this country for basically bankrupting our economy.
The reason that Obama will more than likely win the Presidency has to do with the economy. He is offering CHANGE and a handout to those in need. Life won't change at all for any of these folks in the next 4 years.
I'm done with my rant - have a nice day!

What?
Non-farm employment growth as a whole in states like Tennessee and Kentucky have barely increased at all since the year 2000. However, the economic performance of those two states have been better than Ohio when you examine the data.

Yep, moving forward is good alright. Look at Michigan. That's a blue state. Moving forward works good there huh?
Hey, maybe when Obama gets elected we can add a "1" to that 11,000 already lost, because someone like Joe the Plumber won't get to start a new job. I can just see it...
Coming soon - Ohio: moving forward 2009 plan. Moving forward with higher unemployment, more dirtier crime ridden cities, and more mass amounts of people leaving our state.
Where did all those 11,000+ jobs go? I feel bad for those people that lost them.

See, people here don't think like that. If we did we would be successful as a state. People here are very close minded and just don't care. That's why this state is in apocalypse mode right now.
Cuyahoga County votes HEAVY democrat...what good has voting democrat done for this county/city? Job losses? People leaving the county? People leaving our state? Crime and decay? Last time I checked these were BAD things, not good. No one wants to move to Ohio anymore. Our young generation won't say "Mommy/daddy, I want to move to Cleveland..or Columbus..or Cincinnati" they'll say "I want to move to Texas..or California...The Music City" somewhere I can make a lot of money, achieve my dreams, and be successful.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
