Default Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween. I also wanted to share this article detailing some gruesome happenings from the early history of Trumbull County.

Quote:
Horror-thirsty Trumbull County residents don't need to look too far to find blood-curdling tales this Halloween, local historian Wendell Lauth said.

"There have been a fair amount of scandals and gruesome tales," he said.

Some of the accounts are handed down in historical works, such as Harriet Taylor Upton's volumes on the Western Reserve and Trumbull County, Joseph Butler's History of Youngstown and Mahoning County, or newspaper chronicles from early settlement history.

Ohio is a scary place!

Haunted Places, Ghosts And Hauntings In Ohio

Waynesville is billing itself as one of the most haunted towns in Ohio and has tours and whatnot. Years ago, when I worked for the Western Star, I wrote a couple of stories about the supposed hauntings there. The only thing I remember about it is a ghost that shouted "pot liquor".
