I agree. Why not allow the jobs and potential tax revenue? It can only help the slowing economy.

Default You are not really voting for casinos.....

There is no plural anything. This sort of scam deals only with one particular casino, changes the state constitution and is a bit of a sweetheart deal for some vague operators.

If they want to put casinos in Ohio, do it the right way. Change the Constitution to allow them anywhere and everywhere, with all the types of controls that any other type business would have to undergo.

Do not make the authorization for one particular casino, which in fact does not authorize any others.

The folks opposed to this scheme finally have started to get the ads out that details why it is a slam dunk NO vote.

Casino are a cancer on society but if we must have them, if they are so good for the state, lets have them everywhere any local community will approve them.

The wrong question is on the ballot. It should only authorize and make legal the concept of casinos operating in the state, not make possible some sneaky deal for a particular operator.

Exactly, and if an untaxed Indian casino opens in the future, the tax will drop to zero because of the loophole.

I know a lot of ignorant redneck types who are voting for it because they can't wait to gamble away their paychecks every weekend so there will be some social costs incurred by trading tens of thousands of wrecked lives for a few hundred jobs, I don't believe the 5000/10,000 new job claims of these commercials either.

Default Casino

I love to gamble. I had my wedding at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I will be voting no on this issue. While Im all for having casinos in Ohio I am against this BS ploy by a crook. The state needs the money but not bad enough to agree to giving away a monopoly without getting anything for it. We could use the tax revenue generated but shouldnt jump on the first half assed offer. Lets wait for an offer thats worth our while.

Cosmic, I'm with you. I have no objections to casinos (I rarely go to them, either) but I'm just not comfortable with the way this issue is playing out. Why change our state constitution? And it seems to me, anyway, that just one operator stands to gain with very little input or oversight from the citizens most affected. I believe there is life after DHL, anyway...

Absolutely NOT!

I know people who work at Mountaneer Race Track in West Virginia and they tell me about those who are gambler-holics, where they have to shut down the place for a few hours and those people would stay out in their cars, and wait for the place to open back up, and they tell me that its plain pathetic, that you cant help them out in anyway! The Racetrack is "suppposed" to help people like that, to stop them when they are gamblers and need help, but, like those who work there, it'd be like cutting off your lifeline, and the Racetrack isnt about to do THAT!

So, those who need help with gambling problems would seek the casinos our and gamble all thier money away, and do what ever they needed to get that 'fix', so that they can gamble the money of those whom they will prey upon, in order to feed thier habit.

Sorry, I just cant vote for something like that!

May the LORD Bless each of you.

I wish you well...

Jesse

Thumbs up YES! To Ohio Casino's

Oh ya!

I have in the past and I will support it in the feuture. We need to do something with this dying hole of a state. Besides, we already have the lotery and Bingo nights and Kino. If we don't want the casinos, then lets remove all the gambling right off the bat, especially in the churches. Or atleast start makeing the churches file 1099's on all winnings, so they can start forced taxes no matter how small the winnings are.

Whats the difference between a Betting Machine and a Slot Machine, it's all gambling! Also, I'm sure most of the people who voted "NO" go to the casino's in Indiana.. hypocrites.. I'm glad they're finally getting them in Ohio! )
