These posts are a testament to how little the rest of Ohio knows about the land along the river. Like it or not (I don't), we're part of this state too, so don't knock us just because our ways are different. This is (there is no dispute) the most beautiful area of the state physically, and believe it or not, some people actually like to live down here. Oh and, just because you've visited it "once or twice", please don't consider yourself an expert on this hilly country... A country boy can survive.

South east Ohio is run by the good old buddy system. The city councils are either corrupt or just plain stupid. The small towns like Gallipolis, Pomeroy, Middleport and others are in a strangle hold of the wealthy who got their economic blessings from their grandparents not their own work and will not change anything as long as they stay on top. More millionaires reside in Gallia County then any other place in Ohio. When they are gone perhaps the next generation will be less greedy. The economic future is bleak. To Bad because its really a wonderful place to live and housing costs are the lowest to be found anywhere except the desert waste lands. The work at home folks should consider this location. The area is the most beautiful along the vast Ohio river especially in the summer.

[quote=OhioT;392236]and Dayton IS a suburb of cincy...at least its almost seamless between the 2..
That's hilarious! I lived in Dayton for 18 years, and go back every year to visit family...and not once have I heard anyone call Dayton a suburb of Cincy! |
