I would suggest Hartville. It's north of Canton and is a pretty scenic rural/country town but is minutes from shopping and dining in Canton. I believe the schools are part of North Canton (correct me if I'm wrong) which is an excellent district.

The Hartville Kitchen is also very delicious! Love their gift shop and fudge too!

I'm not sure Hartville would be a good fit for the OP. I thought I read on this forum that Hartville is being developed as a new exurb for Canton and Akron. (so, not that isolated, anymore) And, if the OP was concerned about lake-effect snow, there would be more lake effect snow in Hartville than there would be south of Canton. (though, IMO, still not enough to worry about)

Thanks for the suggestion Wesohood.
I did check it out but do feel Jr_c is right that it would not be quite 'rural' enough for us. At the moment we're still looking South of Canton as I get the impression that it would suit us better to get the 'semi isolated' location to keep my wife happy and also to cut down on the snow because i'm kind of fed up of seeing so much of the white stuff.

Have you checked out Gnadenhutten? It's within the area you're currently looking. My grandparents lived there for a couple years in the 1990's, and it was a charming little place back then. They had a neat library that was in a former bank building, and a nice (but small, obviously) downtown. The only reason my grandparents moved away was to be closer to the hospital (my grandfather has a heart condition) and they wanted to be closer to family.

Hey Jr_c
I'm pretty sure a couple of the houses I've looked at online were either in or near there. If I remember right that town is also pretty close to the 77 which would be great for me as it would make my trips to Cleveland much easier. If I do decide to actually view a house there I 'll let you know.

It's pronounced Jen-A-den-hut-en. ("Jen" like Jennifer, long A, "den" like like bear's den) But, the locals just call it Jenaden.

LOL, I knew I read that somewhere.
But, it didn't seem all that rural when I was in college, in the early 90's. I would go through Hartville on the way to and from home from KSU.
