beavercreek33, i agree. metro cincy gets every inch of possible population counted (15 counties). even more so in columbus when farmland population from 2 counties out are included (ie.morrow county). but in cleveland, adjoining counties (cuyahoga and summit) with their overlaping suburbs are seperate.. i know i know ..driving/commuting patterns..how many people commute from morrow county farmland to columbus each day? 2 ? imo thats cr-p. as for the article, people refuse to ever give cleveland its due. im glad to read something so positive about cleveland.. bottom line, northeast ohio is so much more developed, connected and populated than the rest of our state. 5.2 million people live in our corner of the state. southwest ohio is a distant 2nd , with about 3 mil.(includes ind. and kentucky counties counted for cincy). the rest of the state shares the remaining 3.5mil. population.

Think, if NE Ohio were its own state, it still would have more people than the other 25 states out there, it would be ranked right around where Minnesota is.

exactly. northeast ohio is "down" but it doesnt have to be "out". again , its poor leadership/vision + corruption... and on a side note, i dont want the cincy members to think i dont like cincy, i do. its a pretty awsome metro/region. imo they are the only cities to be in if you are in ohio.

Well NE Ohio has a very positive future ahead of it. And honestly, with the new jobs coming to NE Ohio, it will just take time for them to grow, but they are a really good area to work in, and in the next decade, I have a good feeling they will be one of the best spots in the nation to start a new company. I mean look at how good the medical field has become in NE Ohio, and I was reading an article about how well the tech economy is growing in NE Ohio.
And sorry, but I have to disagree with you on the "only cities in Ohio to be in." We have great cities all over the state, you just have to appreciate being an urban city. You can't walk all over Youngstown, Dayton, Akron, Canton or Toledo. We must, as Ohioans, appreciate everthing we have, because there is a lot we offer, most people just refuse to look at it, or pull out all the negatives. I wish that would stop.
We have cities all over our state, not just concentrated in one area. As Ohioans we should unite and try to help eachother out, instead of working as individual areas.

1watertiger,
If I have 10 counties that total 5,000 sq. ft. in one metro area and then I have 3 counties that total 5,000 sq. ft., which one is larger?

cincy-rise, the 5 ohio counties in the cincinnati metro total 2240sq. miles vs. the 5 county msa of cleveland is 2009sq. miles.. the 15 county csa for cincy is 4462sq. miles with a population of 2.1 million vs. the 8 county csa of cleveland with 3616sq. miles and a population of 2.9 million.. whats your point ? that cincy has more counties/more sq.miles and still has almost a million less people ?

My point is that you guys are comparing the number of counties versus the square milage of the metros.
Is Cincinnati's metro population larger than Cleveland's?
Is Cincinnati's metro growing faster than Cleveland's?
Is Cincinnati's employment growing faster that Cleveland's?
Is Cincinnati's city population growing faster than Cleveland's?
Is Cincinnati's crime rate lower than Cleveland's?
Is Cincinnati's economic outlook, look better than Cleveland's?
Do you really want go there?

No, it's not... and I said "growing the faster."
One city's line is moving up, the other - not so much.

Excuses, excuses. Again, this is an area you don't want to visit. Next!
