What part of Ohio are you looking at? Are there specific areas??? Many areas of Ohio are very different from each other.

Well, if you're not going to be specific you will get varying opinions coming from different people living in different areas of Ohio. You will even get varying opinions from people that live in the same area. Ohio is a much larger state than people think. There are over 11 million people living here. Some people live in densely populated areas and others live on farms. It's hard to give specific answers to these questions. Are you interested in a big city, urban areas, rural, small town, etc?
Does Ohio have good schools? The answer is yes, but we also have bad schools. Are there jobs here? It depends on your field. Some people will say there are no jobs, some will say there are. It depends on a person's experience. Where you live in Ohio and what field you are in has a lot to do with if you think there are jobs or not. Housing is the same way. Sure you can get some cheap housing in Ohio, but what do you consider cheap? You can buy a $5k house in many of our inner cities, but i doubt you would want to live in it or spend the money to fix it up.........there are exceptions, but those are rare.
My advice would be to ask yourself what kind of place you want and we can give you our opinions on places that are like that in Ohio.

Ohio is so different depending on what area of the state you're in. To ask what it is .. is too broad of question. Cinci is vastly different from Cleveland, NW Ohio is very different from Columbus, Cleveland, or Cinci areas. There is too much diversity to sum it all up under one definition.

Ok,
lompoc is definetly not what i chose, it is where the af sent us.
We are a familiy of 5, looking for something quiet, but in working reach of a city.
If possible a small ranch so we can have a horse.
Not bigger than 10 acres though.
I am looking into childcare and my husband human resources.
Is that of any help?

There are areas outside of each large city that could have what you want...
Do you like snow? Head east of Cleveland, into Lake county or further east, and you will get lake effect snow. Less snow? West side of Cleveland, or down nearer to Cincy. North of Dayton and west of Columbus has tons of farmland. Some very small towns. Some Amish also. A suburb of Columbus comes to mind, called Circleville. Pretty rural but close to Columbus.
Eastern southern Ohio is very rural and hilly...
