Well said. It seems as if some of what the op stated is true. Imagine a city where the teens "lurk" on city data to kill time!! Company's have been polluting our ground, and wells in Ohio forever. I would never assume my well was safe to drink. I feel for all of you in the Clyde area, and hope nothing but the best for your families.

I have relatives living in and around Clyde. This cancer cluster is alarming and someone needs to move faster than the government. Has anyone contacted an environmental testing lab to run independent soil, air, and water samples? If a group of citizens had concrete evidence then attorneys would be hungry to tackle the case. (A good place to start: contact SGS Environmental) This can get expensive so band together!

I hope you find your answers.

My prayers go out to all the families who are suffering due to this cancer cluster.I have been doing some research into the enviroment in Clyde and going back to the 60's til present time here is some of the information I found along with some questions I have to further my research. Did the parents of these children with cancer did they ever work in the same place or area? I ask only because my father worked at PRE-FINISHED METALS which is now called MSC WALBRIDGE COATINGS, he was exposed to chemicals such as methyl ethyl ketone and other chemicals and when he would come home from work me and my brother would get nose bleeds just from the left over chemicals on his clothing. As far as Vickery Enviromental goes there is much information that shows how corrupt this site is. Lawsuits brought against the company were those arising from the discovery in March 1983 that WMI's oil-waste landfill in Vickery, Ohio, contained 135,000 gallons of material contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). A former employee at Vickery charged that he was fired for refusing to falsify test results. Though the suits were settled the incident was only one of many similar controversies. In the two years following the Ohio incident, WMI faced suits alleging illegal dumping in at least six states, and several competitors brought actions complaining of monopolistic practices.WMI has been a defendent in 15 major litigations. Also I read somewhere that if they claim that they have buried toxins deep and sealed them that the chemicals may errode thru the seals or the matter in the earth. Im not saying that Vickory Enviromental is what has caused this its just an opinion. There are many other enviromental hazards in and around Clyde. Did these kids go to the same school? I know the teachers were not affected with the cancer however teachers usally dont drink from the drinking fountain, so I was wondering if any of the cases where in the same school? Do you know where Clyde gets its misquitoe spray from? Is there a company called Tru Green or Chem Lawn? And Also one last question does anyone know a person or a company with the name Einsein? Im going to do as much research as I can...Im only a legal asst. and Im currently not employed with a law firm but this story of these children has me wondering what is going on in your area down there. I hope that you guys will get some answers soon. This is not right and no matter what it takes someone needs to be held responsible for what has occured to your families. I will contine to pray for you and your families and communities. I will check back to this site to see if anyone read this and if anyone could please give me some information. God Bless You!!!

The person who posted that they see a giant nuclear reactor spewing pollution out all the time when they "roll" through Sandusky. I belive you are refering to Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor, Ohio. That is just steam that is being expelled back out into the atmosphere or essentially water vapor (clouds). Nothing is being emmited out of the cooling tower (smoke stack) that would have any effect on anyone in the area. The major concern is radioactive waste that is generated at nuclear power plants but this waste is stored on site in containment pools.

Default I beg to differ with the BURNING autofluff

"some other type of plant in the area that is powered by burning tires and automobile fluff??" From the little sense that you are making I gather you are talking about the plant that would use garbage to create electricity with minimal emissions, thus saving the residents of Clyde money? Yeah, absolutely horrifying!

The cops don't know how to file a proper police report? How would you know? Did you file a complaint because your neighbor's grass was 1/16 of an inch higher than it's supposed to be? But even if you were right, maybe they don't know how to file a proper police report because the crime rate in Clyde is so low. I'm also pretty sure Clyde doesn't have a tattoo parlor.

Favoritism in the schools? Yeah, that's why all of Clyde's teams are so good, because they only let the rich kids play, and not because they select the best athletes to represent them, unless there is some sort of scandal going on in the tee-ball league, where everyone's not a winner!
Sorry about my delay in this whole matter
however, specifics on this electricity generating plant are appauling

I went to the "Town Hall" meeting when the elected officials actually tried to look like they gave a crap about the residents input, a better descript would be: officially pretended. At one point the Japanese developer literally asked the question: "If you eat cookies (he referenced chocolate chip cookies) that will last for 10 or more years without spoiling WHY would we be concerned about the 18% of DIOXINS this autofluff plant would release (into the atmosphere) PER TONNAGE that was burned" ???????? And they would NOT give an amount of tonnage they were looking at burning per day, per shift. You know why? Because this would make the NUMBERS REAL, the outcome of the equation would be real, not some thought up imagined number is anyone's head.

AND this Japanese man that did the presentation was also cued as to what residents were present and if they had a kids with cancer, that was pretty obvious when a man stood up to ask a question and the Japanese guy asked him after the question was asked and BEFORE he offered an answer if he had a daughter with cancer. HOW would he know that??? She darn sure was not present. . . . . . . .

My question to the illustrious leaders of the community: "If you are our leaders and this is a GREAT community to settle down and raise a family, as is stated somewhere "family oriented" WHY would you even consider building a plant that PRODUCED AND EXPELLED more cancer causing agents INTO OUR ATMOSPHERE??????"

What's that?? Oh the figures, the dollars and cents that would be SAVED through purchasing electricity from the AUTOFLUFF plant, 2 or 3 cents, maybe 4 cents cheaper than what we were presently buying it for ????? OMG Makes perfect sense to me, I am smelling a pay off or rebate check somewhere for you all. . . . . . .I don't know, you do the math: this Japanese company wants the community to pay for this plant (Municipal Loans) AND they will build it, THEN they will maintain and control it, AND they will be paid to receive autofluff and tires to burn in it and then they will sell us some of the electricity at a slightly lower rate than current standard.
JESUS - don't we have any rocket scientists on council? A FIFTH Grader could see how this works out.

And it is not just the kids, they need to include all cancers of all ages.

But you see we have been told for YEARS that there are NO problems being caused by the spewing reactor, and they, they wouldn't lie to US, would they?

People still found out. They have not gave us no reason and very little help. I think what they r trying to do is let things blow over. I got many papers telling us stuff but there was never a reason why. If I could aford to move I would but I can not and my kids go to school. If we say anything to any one all it does it start problems with my children in school and outside. If any new news I will let everyone know?
