There are tours of the old prison that are pretty interesting. They also have some memorabilia on display. Go take the tour, and enjoy!!! Be sure to take it in spring or fall, though, as it is freezing cold in winter, roasting hot in summer.

My moms uncle was captain of the guards or something like that there along time ago. I'm not sure if she still has any of his old stuff or someone else in the family does but I can ask her. At one time she did and her being very nostalgic I'm guessing she still has some. I don't remember if his last name was Gallagher or Leffingwell, he died back when I was very young and of course mom just says uncle so and so. I do believe they called him Pappy though.

Sir; I believe I still have some books from the Old Mansfield. ( Not just used in the Shawshank movie) I was there from 1977 till 1987, then moved to Lebanon Corrections. As a matter of fact... If there are any of you out there that were Incarecerated in th that Hell hole from 77-87, Please contact me ! Thank you!

Had our HS class reunion there a few years back, it was a good time touring the cellblocks with one flash light and going up the guard tower to overlook the new high security prison.
My wife used to make sales calls to the prison which was interesting for her...
