Default Questions about East Rochester, OH

Hi,
My husband is considering a job move to East Rochester, OH. I was wondering what you can tell me about the area (schools etc.). We are coming from the Detroit area. I will also need to find a special education teaching job. Does anyone know if there are jobs availalbe?
Thanks!

East Rochester is VERY small and in a very rural area, so it'll be a big change from Detroit. Its in the Minerva school district, other than that, I couldn't tell you much about the place. Its kinda halfway between Canton, Youngstown, and E. Liverpool. The biggest towns of any decent size are Minerva, Alliance and Lisbon. The job market here in NE Ohio isn't much better than the Detroit area, but with you being a teacher you may have an easier time than those of us who work in different fields.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for writing back. We currently live in a sub of Detroit but it is not rural. Is soccer big there? My youngest son plays. I teach special education so maybe I might have an easier time finding a job. Any good campgrounds in the area? We are big campers as well.
Thanks!

I think you should look at East Rochester from a satellite view. east rochester, ohio - Google Maps

Or possibly Web browser and Live Maps are incompatible

East Rochester is 2 miles inside of "the middle of nowhere".

Couldn't tell you about the youth soccer scene, don't have any kids.

But, if you like to camp, I know there are some campgrounds over by Guilford Lake, which isn't that far from there at all.

That's b/c it's not really a 'town', it's sort of like an unincorporated area where two crossroads meet along US 30 east of Minerva.

Minerva is your best option - it's a town of about 4,000, and probably has some sort of youth soccer program. Alliance is about 20 minutes north - a city of about 23,000, and I know they offer youth soccer if Minerva doesn't.

Special Ed is the one area you probably can find a job in the teaching field in Ohio as it underserved.
