Warm climate to cold climate move.
I am curious what experiences you've had moving from the warmer climates to the colder climates, and how you adjusted, if you adjusted, how long it took, etc.
Thanks for your input.

Hey there D-Towner, good to see you.
Hey, we have to get away from the hurricanes. Ike was our last straw. You got to give me that. I don't know where we're going yet. Everything we try, fails. My son has not known anything else, and I am concerned if he would even be able to take that kind of Northern cold. So I'm curious!

My experience is that I became acclimated to the climate I was in. I moved from Ohio to San Diego and then to Chicago. When I was in San Diego 50 degrees felt freezing, even though I had experienced much colder weather growing up in Ohio. When I moved to Chicago I got used to the cold weather again and it does not bother me like when I lived in San Diego.

Hey, thanks for your input 5Lakes. How long had you lived in each climate before moving?

We can only go where there is a job open to (try) to transfer, D-Towner.

I have had the same experience as 5Lakes. I moved from Ohio to San Diego and back to Ohio several times. Is a bone chilling cold in San Diego at 50. When I moved back to the midwest, the cold did not seem to bother me as much.
Good luck in your move.

I was born in Tampa, Florida. After Tampa, my family moved briefly to Dallas, Texas and when I was 5, we moved to Cleveland, Ohio. I've been there since... Christmas when I moved to San Francisco, CA. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was like to go from Dallas to Cleveland. However, I cannot tolerate the Cleveland winters, which is one reason why I moved away this year. The wind, the snow, the freezing rain, the gray days, the random snow in April -- it really isn't good for one's mood. I don't know if I could go back to a cold climate now.
