Things to do in Warren/Youngstown.........
Visit Mosquito Lake State park:
Quote:
The park on state Route 305 in Bazetta is a 7,850-acre manmade lake and one of the largest in the state. It also includes a 600-foot beach.
The beach area is in use from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and picnic tables are conveniently close.
Unlimited horsepower boating is permitted on the lake, and five launch ramps provide access to the cool, rippling waters. Fuel, boat rentals and seasonal dock rentals are available as well.

The beach there is very nice, and the water is clean and refreshing. I went swimming there a lot in May of 2007, when we had one of our hottest months of May on record. You don't have to wait for Memorial Day to swim. The water is very shallow as you head in from the beach, so there is no need to worry about getting into trouble like in Lake Erie.
This beach is just one of our many nice inland lake beaches. Pymatuning has nice beaches on both the PA and OH sides with nice sand and clean bathouses. Guilford Lake, down by Salem, also has a nice looking beach. I've never been in the water there, but it looks like it would be very refreshing.

During the Spring, Summer & Fall months I practically live on Guilford Lake. The fishing is great, tons of picnic areas w/grills & the beach is very nice. I've only swam there once or twice but it was very clean, very clear, with little to no weeds at all.
A few of the local bait shops sponsor multiple fishing contests throughout the year. Mark's Landing (near the spillway) has great food, drinks & they also rent out pontoon boats.
It's a great place to spend the day.

The trails ranged from moderate to quite challenging so be careful. A vast majority of the terrain is rocky & can get pretty slick, especially around the caverns.
Again, it's another great way to spend the day.

Not exactly Warren/Youngstown, but it looks like Conneaut Lake Park will be open this year, minus the Blue Streak. Welcome to Conneaut Lake Park • Conneaut Lake, PA USA

I wasn't aware that the park had anything like this... snowmobile trails & cross country skiing? Those were two of my favorite activities back in my Minnesota days! Thank you for posting the link!
