We have our share of problems out here in the country, so most of realy could care less what happens in the city. We pack guns to stop 4 legged pest. And I love that little statement of the "thank you Note ", more of them need to be sent out.
And, owning a bunch of guns doen't make one a responsible gun owner, nor does it ever impress anyone, it just mean you have money to burn.

i got most of them from my father because he did not want them any more. i am very proficient in gun safety, or else my father would not have entrusted them to me. my job pays well, but i also have bills, i don't just blow all my money on guns and munitions. btw, i am not trying to impress you, you're the one who talks about loaded guns and how you were a weapons instructor and having military firearm repair experience. it seems more like you were trying to impress me.

Nor did I say that you blow all your money on guns & ammo, now did I? So I'll end this now, because I don't care to do battle the mentally unarmed, Now have a nice day there young fella, Bye now.

Yes its still dangerous in those areas, but not nearly as bad as it was when the projects still stood and were occupied. Im still confused at this because when did I ever say I never spent time in those areas? I have friends and family in many areas of Chicago. A childhood friend of mine moved back near his family in Englewood, and I have spent time over there. Along with South Shore, Washington Park, North Lawndale/K-Town, Near Northside, and Garfield Park. Ive at least been to the majority of neighborhoods in Chicago, if not spent time/visited or lived there.

true... One thing I can actually agree wit you on... my mother is from tha Taylor and I used to stay near the Ida Bs in tha summer when I was a kid... Its a huge noticeable difference. So you do know the Chi??? Oh and for those who said we need to stick with Ohio cities, the only reason why Chicago and Philly was brought up was someone else and myself were comparing it to Cleveland. If there is any city in the state of Ohio comparable to both those cities it would be Cleveland.... Thats the only reason why they were brought up earlier...

Oh and to comment on the name of this thread, the city I currently live in, Toledo, is at 12, which is not high for a city its size, but the media is making it out like we're in a state of emergency or somethin.... To anyone living in the city of Toledo, dont buy into this whole thing of Toledo's violent crime rate dramatically increasing. Yes things have gotten a little bad, but not to the point to where you need to go to Cleland's Outdoor World and brush up on your shooting skills. Simply just turn the news off, lock your doors, be alert, and go about your business. Plain and simple.....

I think it was 2007 when Toledo only had 12 or 13 murders for the whole year. That was well less than average though of course.
I think Toledo has been averaging about 26 murders per year, so 12 by now is only slightly above average, although 1 murder is 1 too many.

That probably explains why the media is making it to be worse than it actually is...
