Oh yeah I found that clip of the Dearborn Homes in Chicago, this is what I was talkin bout earlier... If the site pulls this clip off of here then yall know why.... Its pretty graphic, but hey this is what people gotta live thru on the Southside of Chicago.... Im not tryna make Chicago out to be the worse place on earth, and Im not sayin Cleveland dont experience the same.... Im just sayin its pretty rough out there and I dont know too many places with the type of gang culture and crime that Chicago has....

In Cleveland I was born on the Westside off Storer and lived there and E85th/Superior among other areas growing up (just mentioning Cleveland). I've been to just about every hood and suburb/city in and around Cleveland. There are real crips and bloods in Cleveland. I'm also Puerto Rican (half) and have people (friends, etc.) in Cleveland who are Latin Kings. Cleveland also has most the other Hispanic gangs (Lorain as well).

Yes I did stay in Humboldt Park/Logan Square and several other areas in Chicago. I've spent time in the worst neighborhoods like Englewood, North Lawndale, etc. I would say I'm pretty familiar with it. Humboldt Park isn't nearly as bad as it was say 15 years ago, but there is still much crime and a heavy gang presence in that area. I'm not saying the gang culture in Cleveland is anywhere near that, it's obviously not, but there is gangs and some gang culture in Cleveland and the Cleveland area. I've seen some of those videos of Chicagos projects and that's definitely bad. Most of the videos are pretty old though, but there are a few projects like that still standing in Chicago.
If anyone mention crypts bloods and Folks and Cleveland in the same sentence don't know what the hell they talkin bout. Like I said before you are always going to have some type of gangs but there is no problem in Cleveland with gangs. It is more about money and drugs with most cities anyway. Just because you got a couple lames claiming dey crypts and bloods don't make it true. I have not heard that in years. If anyone on hear from cleveland what hood you from and what gangs run yo hoods. it aint a gang I heard of from miles to woodland det actually got respect in da hood and known foe puttin in work. kids running around doing dumb shi$t and calling they self a gang don't make it one. it is a trick so when they get locked up they automatically get extra years added to their sentence. I don't know about the rest of Ohio nor do I care. Wether their is gangs in other cities is not for me to say because I don't live their. Just talking about cleveland. crypts and bloods huh. I don't know cle440 but you can tell he has no street credit. To even mention crips and bloods is just funny. There are gangs in Cleveland but no gang culture. The gangs are mostly concentrated on one part of the eastside which happens to be the worst in cleveland. Wether they attach a name to it or not its grimy and always will be. Majority of Cleveland cats rep hoods and blocks. St clair. or Sct which stand for st. clair thug. Technically you could call it a gang if you want to but their so many different clicks because st. clair a long ass strip. Find another thread where the discussion is gangs and see if you find some body from Cleveland that actually know what they talking bout.
IF there are real bloods and crips in cleveland they not from cleveland period. As a person you can claim whatever you want. I know all about hough heights and waste five. Like I said they are concentrated on one part of town. If you get down to it its all about protecting territory. 117th st. clair does not have a name for there set like st. clair in the 70's det call theyselves 7all but you can not sell nothing over their. nothing. Don't let da media feel yo head up. You know alot of those guys got twenty years. twenty years for not killing anybody. They could of been arested every last one of them they waited till crime went up and made one big bust. Name gangs from miles kinsman union Harvard buckeye woodland 116th 93rd. All of it seperated by clicks. In that article they said Garden Valley had a gang. Its da projects. it look like a gang no matter what. People who live off kinsman say kinsman county or just rep dey block. Some people don't rep nothing they just get money. If you are convinced that their is a Gang problem in cleveland that is your opinion. I lived on wood worth in east cleveland 152nd and st. clair 31st and clark superior hill 65th and broadway just to name a few. When I was young I used to argue that Cleveland Had gangs but old cats would school me and tell me just *****s with nothing to do and in a few years **** be dead.

Cleveland is more dangerous than LA or Chicago. End of story. Who cares about gangs or what not, there are 14 year olds who will shoot you over nothing.
Stats prove that Cleveland is more dangerous. What more do you want? Cleveland is more dangerous. Cleveland is americas poorest city, most in foreclosures, and one of the highest in crime and homicide rates.
No story or personal reference can change that. who CARES about the gangs.. does that change that Cleveland is more dangerous? The reason Cleveland is more dangerous because 14 years old now think they are bangin, and will shoot ANYONE at ANYTIME. It's the same with Detroit.
Unpredictable teens with guns are MORE dangerous than gang bangers with affiliations.. as stats prove.
Sleepy, I can also tell you ain't been in Cleveland in some time because the West side is almost as dangerous now. It used to be different, but the whole shooting/robbing culture is EVERYWHERE now.. that's the first sign i know you haven't been here in years,.
and trust me, I know 10-5 wasteland, i know SCT, i know talibanz, i know madhouse, i know morris black, i know up the way, grove street, vice lords, durty 30, hough heights, gansta bloods, lakeview, etc.. that doesn't mean ANYTHING when Cleveland is still more dangerous. I don't care how many more gangs are in other cities, bottomline is teens are still killing ANYONE in cleveland and STATS prove that.
I have no "street credit"?...First of all, I haven't heard that word (Street Credit) used by any actual gangsters in 10+ years now. Second, seriously we're on city-data, an online forum. I don't know you and you don't know me. What do they call you guys again, "internet gangstas"?
Historically, Cleveland gangs are just about territory but to say there is no real gangs in Cleveland is just plain ignorant. There is real gangs and a real gang culture, has been for years and years. Was it always crips, bloods, or Chicago gangs? No, but there has always been a big gang presence in Cleveland. Of course there was the Italian Mafia (That's not a modern street gang though IMO), I've heard of real Vice Lords in Cleveland also.
I don't understand why it's so important to you to say that Cleveland has no gang culture, especially when everything and everybody else says exactly the opposite. Go to E93rd and Kinsman and tell them there is no real gangs or gang culture in Cleveland, or Madison and W73rd, Division and W25th, EC, just to name a few. Of course next to cities like LA, Chicago, etc. Cleveland will look like it has a lot less gang culture/presence, and it does although it's still more dangerous than those cities, but again to say there is no real gangs or gang culture is just ignorant and shows that you don't know what you're talking about.
Not a gangsta, just an average cat from da land who represent cleveland very well. You can confuse clicks with gangs or pull stats all you want but when people actually bring it up in the streets not on the computer people just laugh. People know da real from da fake. Your opinion does not matter I lost many close people to da streets over random acts of violence and just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know cleveland is dangerous I lived in some of the worst hoods. Bottom line is their is no way to prove that people who disagree even from cleveland let alone in da streets. debate dead got better **** to talk about.
I agree with some of what you are saying. I said that most of the gangs that are reconized if you just randomly mentoined it is on the east side. Alot of murders in cleveland on the west side are random just as they are on the east side. The dangerous thing about cleveland is you really don't know what to expect because their is not that much gang banging. People get killed out here more for nothing i think than in most cities. drinking robbery dope ect. I could easily pull stats for the murders in 2007 and a high percentage would have nothing to do with gangs. You people act like I said cleveland soft. I got robbed on castilla going to get some koolaid at 4 in da morning. You never know out here. As far as the projects gang or not is da projects nuff said.
