true2him, you honestly dont know what youre talking about. Obviously this topic is important to you for some reason, because you felt the need to join just to participate in this thread and nothing else since all your posts are in here.
There are many cases like that where there are cities surrounded by other cities. For example, Detroit, Cleveland, cities in Texas, etc. Those other cities are separate and their population is not counted in the main city, so it would only make sense that the murders from there arent counted for the major city either. Undetermined deaths are not all murders, and if you want to say that almost every major city has many undetermined deaths that could have been homicide, if you want to count that for Cincinnati you have to count all them for all the other cities as well. Also, Cincinnati did not have 97 homicides last year or anything close to that, the city of Cincinnati only takes up a small portion of Hamilton County. Even if you wanted to do it that way then you would have to add all the other suburbs population for Cincinnati, and it would make the murder rate even lower than it is now.
And to wesohood and 1watertiger, I believe that East Cleveland has had about 3 homicides so far. That link is missing a lot of homicides. Cleveland has around 38 now. Cuyahoga County is in the 50s now.

Yes, it averages around 10 per year.
Thats for a city of only 25k in 3 sq miles. It had 12 in 2007 I believe.

How does Toledo have such low homicide numbers for a city of it's size?

I wouldnt doubt it.
Most of the crime categories are probably "off the charts" in East Cleveland.
That city is in deep, it needs help badly. I would like to see it annexed or taken over by the city of Cleveland, its sad that a lot of neighborhoods on the Eastside are actually a step up from EC now.

That was a pretty low year for homicides in Toledo.
Normally it averages about 25 per year, which is still pretty low comparatively to most the other large urban areas in Ohio (Cleveland, Dayton, Youngstown, Cincinnati, etc.)

Exactly, thats why the police layoffs and 5 murders in one weekend is something we havent seen since the 90s, we're not use to this. This may be normal in Cleveland, but not here in Toledo.

Since when is 5 murders in one weekend normal in Cleveland? It has happened once in recent memory, due to one crazy guy killing 5 family members. That's like saying it's normal for 33 people to be killed in one day in Blackburn, Virginia.
