New to Boardman
Hi all,
I just move to the Boardman area from IN about two months ago for my job. I really like the area as far as shoppining, dining out, etc. I've been going to Millcreek park on a regular basis lately and love it-what a great place! Only problem is I'm having trouble meeting new people. A bit about myself-I'm 33, female, single, well educated and professionally employed. Any suggestions as to how to make some new friends in the area?

To meet local people, I've always been told to get involved in activities that you're interested in. (charities, gym, take a class, etc.)
You could try the Mahoning Valley Professionals 20/30 club: MVP 20/30 Club
Hopefully, Cortlandgirl will chime in with more ideas.
Welcome to the area!

Glad you are enjoying the area! And welcome to Ohio
How are the people at your work? Maybe they will have some ideas for you. Maybe while your out at the Shops at Boardman Park or the Southern Park Mall you can meet people. I know The Shops at the Park has a nice Barnes and Noble...

I know there is an adult kickball league in your area Kickball League of Ohio. Mill Creek is a good place.........maybe join a gym? Where do you work? I know there are a decent amount of young people that work downtown and go out down there after work. I've lived in the area my entire life, so i've never had to try and meet people here. Maybe you could check out Welcome to Boardman Park too. Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

I was thinking the same thing. A great place to meet very nice people... There are a lot of great churches in Youngstown's southern suburbs.

I agree with all the above suggestions as well & it sounds like you're already off to a great start.
Mill Creek is a great place & I constantly find myself meeting new people out there. The park does draw in a lot of regulars so the chances of running into someone again is very likely. I've found that parks are often one of the best places to meet someone... in most cases people tend to be a little more relaxed & social... not to mention you've already found a common interest!
Good luck & I hope you're enjoying the area & all that it has to offer!
