Well, i wouldn't want to live in Masury...........not that i think it's a terrible place, but if you like a big city atmosphere you won't find it there, we jokingly call it misery! lol Masury is very close to the Pennsylvania border sort of between Brookfield, Ohio and Sharon, Pa. You can either live on either side of the border if he wants to be close to work. I think property taxes are higher in PA, but i'm not positive on that.
To be able to help you better we will need more specifics. Do you want to rent or buy? Why kind of homes do you like? amenities? activities? shopping? density and feel???

We will most likely rent first so that we can look around before we buy. We are not interested in acreage we would like a golfing community if possible. I like shopping and restaurants we both like major league sports…we also like to boat. Thanks

Check out the Howland area. I know there's golf courses, as well as shopping and apartments out that way. Not to mention, Mosquito Lake is not that far away for your boating fix. Also, you're close to the Eastwood Field, where the Scrappers play, which is the closest thing to major league sports out this way, but being its close to Route 82, you've got easy access to the Turnpike to Cleveland where you can see the Browns, Cavs, and Indians.

You may want to rent in Howland or NE Warren to get a feel for the area. Both Cleveland and Pittsburgh are an hour away so you can get your major league sports fill there. As truemuck mentioned, Mosquito Lake is very close to Warren and Howland. You might also want to look into Cortland. You can walk to the lake from there.
As for a golf community, i'm not sure what you are used to, but i think you will find that golf rates in this area are very cheap compared to many other areas of the country. I believe Trumbull Co. has something like 20 - 25 golf courses. If you are looking for a home on a course i would check out Walnut Run Golf Course Home Page in Cortland. In Howland there are homes around Avalon Lakes and Avalon South. Membership at Avalon Golf and Country Club includes membership to Avalon Lakes in Howland, Buhl Park in Sharon, Pa, and Squaw Creek Country Club in Vienna..........all are 20 minutes or less of each other. In Northeast Warren there are stately homes surrounding www.trumbullcountryclub.net - If you have a good job the country clubs in this area are very affordable and if you want more info about types of housing or golf courses just let me know.
