Forbes is covering it now...but it's still from the same study:

I have never once seen you post in the Ohio forum before, until now.
I've posted several times in Ohio threads, specifically in threads concerning the greater Youngstown area, dig a little deeper into my posting history. And I'm not all about being a booster for PA and Pittsburgh. I'm concerned about the regional economy as a whole, whether it be PA or OH.

Not saying you weren't, just saying I know there is a rivalry between NE Ohio and Western PA, and sometimes when an GOOD article about the other gets posted, someone tends to bash that area.

Cleveland and Pittsburgh are probaly both of the best comeback stories in the nation right now as far as major cities go. Both are extremely livable, great park systems, great universities, beautiful downtowns, noticing a new trend in its younger population, and home to some of the best medical facilities in the world. Give it time, the sunbelt will be bleeding soon!

^This was good news for Pittsburgh as well -- it was rated #4 according to the chart in the second link in the original post in this thread.

This is for this month:

"Compared with a month earlier, 14 cities showed price gains, led by a 4.1 percent jump in Cleveland and a 1.9 percent increase in Dallas. "

Too bad they didn't have a list of the cities percentages. I would like to see where Cleveland stood with others besides Dallas, which looks like they lagged behind Cleveland quite a bit.

Yeah, the front page of the Wall Street Journal had a pretty decent graphic with about 20 metro's in comparison with each other. All posted gains except 4. Of those two were flat and two were down. One of them, Las Vegas, was down some 4% I believe.

I hope these numbers are just the beginning and housing prices continue to improve but one report doesn't necessarily make a trend and have a long way to go. To put in perspective the index just brings prices back to May 2000 price levels per the Case-Schiller index, this index is the most credible source for housing price data.

Whoops, let me correct myself now that I've looked at the WSJ article again. It's for 20 metro areas with 15 gaining or remaining flat and four dropping. Las Vegas was the worst but at only a 2.6% loss.
