Lima residents' reaction to show Glee
I'm from northeast OH and am always excited when a tv show's location takes place in Ohio. I like the show, Glee but wonder how Lima residents feel how it portrays their city. Any thoughts?

I'm not from Lima, but I am very careful not to give any credibility to the show. I worked in education for 35 years in the state of Ohio and I know that things that the administration is doing in that show are totally laughable. I just watch it because our kids were in an award-winning show choir when they were in high school, and I love seeing the energy and talent that show choir kids exhibit.

We live in Findlay, and I can't believe all of the negative things people I know say about Lima. I've been to the Girl Scout Council in Lima once for about 45 minutes, so I can't make any statement whatsoever about the city itself.
I would think that the show (which I love) is so ficticious that there could certainly be no real comparision to that school and any real high school. It is a parody. I don't think anyone I know is watching it saying, "Gosh look what it's like in Lima, OH."

Never seen it but I know they used a pennet from Shawnee State University (which is in Portsmouth) as a prop in the backgound. Nice to see them use stuff like that.

Im from Lima and havent watched the show yet. from what i hear they dont mention Lima too often. supposedly the shows creator or producer is from Indiana and had friends or family in Lima he would visit as a kid. on one trip he read an article in the lima news about a tornado the went through the lima area and he was fascinated by it. so lima just stuck in his head for all those years and thats how lima became the setting for his show.
