I grew up in Chillicothe and know a number of people who went throught the program. Otterbein College's Music Dept has a close relationship with the CRW for their audio engineering students, so you know that with a quality program like that, there's some "there" there.
It's got a great reputation, but in a small town like Chillicothe, there's not a lot of demand for their services. Most of their big projects come in from out of town. If I were you, I'd plan to come to Chillicothe, get my training, and move on to another place with a sustainable job market with demand for my industry.
As far as what the city's like in general: it's a small town with a lot of charm. There are plenty of churches (I personally reccommend The Vineyard for Non-denominational worship, Walnut St for UMC and St. Peter's for Catholic) so you'll have your pick. Night life is limited, as usual in a small town, but there are a couple of great bars that have decades of charm, specifically the Crosskeys. There's movie theatres and shopping, bowling and every restaurant known to man. The Majestic Theatre is a beautiful old place that mounts community theatre productions, live music, and occasionally movies. It's a beautiful rural town, with lots of places to go tromping through the woods nearby.
If you do come, you have to try three food-related things: 1) Hirsch's Apple Cider. It's to die for. I can't buy any other kind, they've so spoiled me. 2) Jerry's Pizza. It's legendary. 3) Crispie Creme Doughnuts. They're the best on earth, light years beyond that Krispy Kreme Krap.
Good luck!
