Default moving to Findlay from Baton Rouge/New Orleans area

Ok, I need the scoop on moving up north to the Findlay area. I have lived my entire life in the deep south and don't know anything about the north (I did travel to Indy in November once We have three kids and will be moving at the beginning of the year. The kids are high school, middle age (autistic) and preschool so we need a big house. What area should we be considering to live in? Any tips on coming from the deep south?

Welcome!
We made the move last year from MI and are really pleased with Findlay.

There are some great neighborhoods. You could check out realtor.com for prices that are in your range. Often the houses listed have virtual tours, so that can help a lot. One thing about Findlay is that it floods. It doesn't just flood alittle. When it does it does and every once in awhile that is a huge flood. So where ever you live, you want to know, very specifically does that house or neighborhood take on water during the floods.

We were looking at some of the higher end neighborhoods, including Lakeview Park, and Pheasant Run. Fox Run and Forest something or the other (tired and not thinking of it right now) are also quite nice. All those neighborhoods are on the North East side of Findlay.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to either ask here or private message me.

I wish you luck!

Findlay area sure looks butt ugly, clay soils, swampy, floods, densely settled, I'd be howling at the Moon had I lived there.

I don't think "butt ugly" is how I'd refer to it. While Findlay is a decent city with a quaint downtown, there are a lot of farmlands right here. It is flat. But there are some pretty parks and nice features...
