We must resist this madness. The phony war on terror is being used to arrest our constitutional rights. Let Ohioans take a stand against this!

As much as I hate the ACLU (Atheist Commie Lawyers' Union) ...they are right to oppose this. As written, it appears to be a very ineffective law that would easily be violated and hardly enforced.
Can't anyone sign a statement saying "I'm not a terrorist" but then go blow up a school or something?! The whole thing sounds like window dressing to me. It seems politicians felt motivated to "do something" so they could say they did it, but what they came up with isn't very well thought out, and probably won't solve anything. The very fact it was Taft who signed this bill makes it even more questionable. ![]() |

Another example of why Ohio continues to slide down the poll's in how well it fares compared to the other states in the country.

I don't understand how this can be effective: if a contractor signs this, then an employee commits an act of terrorism, is he held responsible?
Don't get me wrong: holding an employer responsbile for what his employees do is ignorant. This is akin to writing a law that holds an employer responsible if you hire someone who might become a serial killer on his off hours. But if it doesn't hold anyone responsible for anything, what the heck is the point?? |

The American Civil Liberties Union (not the wingnut thing you mentioned) protects our Bill of Rights and that deserves praise, not ridicule. |

It is only unfortunate that I need to say that.

The philosophies at the heart of the ACLU have always been class struggle, collectivism, anti-religious bias, and outright rebellion. Do you think these folks' radical, anti-freedom ideologies represent "the essence of being American"? ![]() |

It is ironic that the ACLU is demonized as being anti-American when you have people like the judge in Alabama who openly circumvents the Constitution by putting up the Ten Commandments at a courthouse knowing full well that inserting a particular religion's icon on state property is an endorsement of a particular faith. People throw out the commie lines etc so that will brand the organization as counter to the majority of Americans, but remember its the Bill of Rights that they are defending and the great protections in the Bill of Rights not only protect your right to believe in God and be a practicing ___insert faith here___ but also protects the rights of atheists and people of different political ideologies. |
