Question Medina Ohio? What can you tell me?

Lately my husband and I have thought of moving to Ohio with our young family. We live in another state now but I grew up in NE Ohio. I don't want to live in the same city I grew up in. I had a couple of friends in Medina and it always seemed nice. What can you tell me about schools, hospitals, commute to Cleveland, taxes, etc in Medina Ohio?

Are you talking about Medina the city, or the county as a whole? Medina is a nice place to live, but it's growing like mad and the traffic congestion can be a bit unpleasant. Getting to Cleveland is fairly easy via 71, depending on what construction is going on where (and these days it seems to be all construction, all the time). Medina Hospital is a good hospital, the Medina City Schools are good schools, and taxes range from mildly painful to omygodjusttakemywholepaycheck!

Hi! I have lived in Medina County for the last 50+ years- and as otterkill stated -it is growing like mad-we have a wide range of houses-from modest homes to million plus developments ,small farms to large ones-so there is something for most everyone-more and more stores are moving on in-whereas in the past we travelled to Akron or Cleveland to hit the major chain stores -Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, Staples -they and many others are now in Medina itself. It is a great location-only being about 45 min to either Clev. or Akron. Are the taxes high?-well I guess that depends on what you think is high-there are several countries with lower overall rates and several with higher rates-Medina Hospital is "good"-especially for the common hospital stays-anything too out -of-the -ordinally and one gets shipped off to Cleveland Clinic or Akron General-all in all, I love Medina County!!
