Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and would like opinions on NE Ohio. We are looking to move this summer (from Phx). I'm from Warren and grew up in Niles. Moved to AZ 30 yrs ago(I was 12) We want to run a small farm, cattle ect.. My husband grew up on a farm in Iowa, I miss the seasons and "small town".

Kinsman sounds fine for what you are looking for. That is definitely a rural farm community. I know a family that owns an apple orchard in St. Clairsville.

I think you can find some really great properties in the rural areas of Trumbull Co. As you probably know Kinsman is Badger Schools, it's a small system, but they have a brand new school on Rt 7 and it looks really nice. I don't think you'll run into too much "bible belt" mentality around here, so i wouldn't worry about that. I would also look into Vernon, Gustdavus (sp?), Mecca, Johnson, Fowler, Bazetta, maybe Bristol or West Farmington.

Yeah, also try Labrae or Cortland too. Also, NE Ohio isn't "bible belt" at all; it's actually quite heavily Democrat and the cities such as Cleveland & Akron are very liberal. Lots of Catholics. The culture is more like New England here than Ohio.

Thanks for all the info. Glad to hear people are more open minded than I thought. We will be there next weekend, any snow left on the ground? Anyone know anything about any "farm loan programs"? I've been on the dept of ag website but it's a little confusing. Thanks again!
