Holgate is a small, rural community in southern Henry county. i grew up in the northern part of the county, so I don't have first hand knowledge of living there. I did have relatives there though. There are a number of churches of various denominations. They have a bank, funeral home and several other local businesses. The last I knew they had a small, locally owned grocery store. They also have a nursing home and just completed a new Prek-12 school. I always thought the people seemed pretty friendly when I was growing up, even though they were our rivals in athletics.
