Are we (U.S.A.) being too short sighted in condemning the Saudis for what al-Qaide is doing? Like us, Saudi Arabia is fighting he war on terrorist. Saudi Arabia has (more or less) supported us in this war. Ower interests are the same. I thank it behooves use too support and trust the Saudis as much as we do the British to do the same thing, run sum sea ports. Are we not on the same side? Our goals are the same. The defeat of al-Qaide and terrorism. Not all Christians are terrorist like Thomas Blanton Jr.,Timothy McVeigh and Ted Kacaynski. Not all Muslims are terrorist like ben Laden and the fools that follow him. Are we being a little short sighted here? I would be the last person to want to say Bush is farsighted. I`m starting to think he may be on he mark with this one.

Default This forum is not very good

I had to go to great lengths to get back to this forum. It seems that the administrators erased all the chatter before or moved them elsewhere without notifying us.

It is enough that the forum itself is cumbersome and no real conversations can be carried, but they then remove all "threads" so that no one can get in and opine.

I don't know, Buddy. It was worth a try, but it sure falls way short of the old forum we used so much.

Perhaps we were expecting more than this site wants to allow. Most of what I read is "hello, I am new" or I am looking for..." and not much in the way of conversation. That could explain why they erase threads - they simply do not want them.

I will continue to try until they again erase the thread -then I will not waste time on it anymore.

I wonder if the new woman who stepped in is able to re-find the newark link and get back in. It doesn't look too good for the website to eject her after only introducing herself and telling readers that she was trying to learn how to use it. I guess we'll see if she tries to re-join or if the site has blown her away.

Default We try again

I got a message from the administrator saying it was a technical problem that erased our conversations, so perhaps we can still carry on. I think you are correct that this is meant to be an "information" forum, but I see nothing particularily wrong with anything we have written -except that some of it came from Southern California and that can ALWAYS cause problems.

So, Sister, are you still in Nerk or are you a transplant like Buddy and myself?A quick warning, since we are on a public forum, do not put anything personal that you do not want known on a forum. If you feel that you want to give personal info, it is better to do it in other ways, direct to the one you want to have it.

Having said that, this is a good way to express your thoughts with others. some sill agree, some will argue -but with a bit of restraint, it can be a lot of fun.

I find it interesting that a Congress and a President that ignore the problems of the border and the illegal aliens (NOT "immigrants" as the Liberals call them) are now worrying about the administrative duties of running ports that we have no control over to begin with.
containers are not checked (85%) and ships not checked and the administration of Ports has nothing whatsoever to do with any of that.

Congress, once again is throwing smoke bombs. By being "concerned" about who writes the longshorman paychecks, congress has managed to shift border security away from the simple fact that they (Congress) have never addressed the problem and have no intention of doing so.

That nutcase , barbara Boxer from California (sorry, Buddy) is all sorts of upset over the idea that Arabs might run some ports, yet she has no idea that Communist China is running the ports in her own state.

My guess is that China is a bigger risk than UAE, but to the blind followers of the Left, it is insignificant and Barbara gains stature for opposing the Republicans , even if she has no idea what anyone is talking about.

It amazes me that people with radical views are able to dupe the voters and gain office
While both parties seem to have radicals, the names Kennedy, clinton, Boxer, Gore, kerry, Byrd, and Dean seem to jump out of the pack as examples of not knowing - or caring - what the voters (normal Americans) want.

Even when they lose elections because of being so far out of touch, or cause others to lose, they see it only as a glitch and assume that the American people have had too many hanging chads or dimpled ballots instead of understanding that the voters think the extremism is out of line.

The head of the UAE company that is buying the contract, by the way, is an American businessman -and has been for quite a while.

Trust me, Buddy...

I am VERY careful what I say about California. I do realize that there are women, children and puppies reading this, so I am very careful.

Do you remember when "Fantasyland" was only a part of Disney's Park?.....
