My family and I are seriously considering relocating to Ohio due to a job opportunity. I have 2 kids, ages 10 and 4. We are looking for a very family oriented community with a good school system and a place where the kids can go outside and play without having to schedule "playdates" The opportunity is in the Middletown area. Can anyone give me some insight about communities we should look at. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Middletown itself doesn't offer a whole lot. But there are several nice areas close by. I really like the Lebonon and Mason areas. Both would be a relatively short commute to Middletown. Also there are plenty of nice communities south of Middletown and north of Cincinnati that are worth checking into.

I wouldn't consider Middletown itself. Lebanon and Mason are both nice areas. How far are you willing to commute?

Middletown is not all negative. The east end of town has some beautiful areas. Trenton, only five miles away, is a good location also.

Middletucky may not have the school system you are looking for, you can find developments off 122 or Greentree Rd between Middletown and Lebanon which would be close to Middletown but in the Lebanon school district.

Personally I think Lebanon > Mason, not just because I live here, but there has been less over development in Lebanon. Mason has the whole Tylersville Rd. & Fields-Ertel/Mason-Montgomery clusterfkkk going against it.

Ohio Magazine picks Lebanon as best hometown
