Default Salaries in rural Oklahoma

I am moving to a small town north of OKC. I have worked as a paralegal for 25 years in a big city, and want to continue working but know salaries are much lower in Oklahoma. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of hourly rate I might ask for in small-town Oklahoma as a full-time paralegal? Or what county court clerks make? THX

Sorry no one answered your question. I guess no one knows anything specific about your occupation.

Just doing a search of classified ads on newsok.com, I found one in OKC that advertised $35K for 5 years of experience.

What town are you moving to?

The rural areas will definitely be low. It depends on how small of a town you are looking at.

Rural areas will obviously be the lowest paying jobs....OKC is a political town and has many law firms. Look over attorney row(13th and Shartel) near downtown OKC- Uptown...they always need good paralegals because they are cheaper than attys and they can do many of the same things. I have known some that get 40- 50 for their experience and abilities. They are in demand. good luck...happytown

Yes, salaries are cheaper in OK, but so is the cost of living. So I guess it equals itself out. Where you moving from? What town are you moving to?
My mother in law is a county clerk in a VERY VERY small town in North OK (Medford, OK), and she gets paid like $12/hour or something like that.
Hope that helps!
Good Luck!

Shari

The only small town I ever lived in that had a paralegal was Carthage, MO. Most of the OK attorneys I know in small towns use secretaries because they are cheaper. .
