As one that has lived all over the United States and away from my Oklahoma family, I would not risk being away from loved ones. That's just me.

Just too hard to make it all work with holidays and all the other family events/get-togethers/memories that make life great. I've been there done that. As an old man I wouldn't do it again. You can't replace family (unless you just can't stand 'em of course!) no matter where you live.

Ok, so I absolutely loved my visit to OKC. It seems like a great place, friendly people, has its bad spots like every other city. I loved everything about my visit except one thing. There are no mountains in sight!! Where do you go hunting?? Anyways, I knew there wouldn't really be any mountains like I am used to.

So, now moving on to my next issue. I want to move to Oklahoma next year around March or April, but I am curious as to where would be the most affordable, but would still be a decent enough neighborhood that I could go for a late night/early morning walk without having to worry. I am also curious to hear from people that have an eviction. I have one eviction from about 3 years ago and I would like to know how difficult it would be to get into a 1 or 2 bedroom house or an apartment.

IMO Hunting is best done in the east, and southeast parts of the state. We have what could loosely be called small mountains there.

There are plenty of great places to live in OKC, it would be hard to narrow it down based on your criterea.

Thanks Boxcar. Anyone have an idea of how difficult it would be to get a place with one eviction?

Have you looked at Tulsa or Eastern OK? Better hunting and fishing. More terrain not as flat as OKC area.

Most people here do have a very live and let live attitude, and will not shun you if you aren't a religious person. Just be prepared for the questions.
Could not disagree more. At least in our experience, people will indeed shun you if you're not "like them". We moved from Florida 3 years ago, and still haven't found people we consider "genuine". Utah to OKC? To quote another in this thread..."M-kay"...
