Default Things to do?

Moving to OKC in the near future, looking for things to do on weekends and activities to meet people?

Do you know which area you'll be living in? I ask because I imagine you probably don't want to spend 30 minutes driving from Edmond to Norman (unless you're a die hard Sooners fan) just to meet people, who probably won't live anywhere within your local vicinity.

Sorry, I will be living in the Moore area. Not a huge football fan, so probably won't be going to many football games.

What are you in to? Are you single? Do you have a family? There is a lot to do in this area but it largely depends on your interests.

Moore is a great town for family related activities but can be suburban purgatory if you're single and in your 20's.

Ya, I'm single and 25. Really looking for things to do where I can meet people that isn't a bar or a club. I'm a computer technician, so I'm into computers and technology, aviation and some other random interests.

If you bike there is a weekly ride. See
Oklahoma Bicycle Society - Weekly Rides
for the Moore-Norman Breakfast Ride information.

There is a very active Chamber of Commerce. You might want to visit with someone there.

Well, as some have said, it depends on what you really like. Since you've stated no clubs or bars, then I would recommend finding out the happenings on the OU campus in Norman which is really close to you. A lot of people don't know that there are a ton of activities and things to do on campus through the year that you really don't have to be a student to do. It's also a great place to meet people close to your age of the opposite sex since you're single.

Since you are a computer technician, may I suggest attending a RefreshOKC meeting. It is all about the next generation of the Web and discussion next-generation technologies. Look them up on Facebook. I haven't had a chance to attend a meeting yet because I won't be back in OKC until next year, but that would be a good place to start if you want to meet people that share a similar interest.
