OKC Chanel is on a distinguished road
Hi Crasher. I have been living here for 45 years. The other years cant be told!
I can tell you i have lived in many places and I have travelled extensively.
So I might be able to help you a bit. My sons know more about OKC than I do! I will ask about the Flat Iron condos. I think they have many projects developing at a fast speed. It is great to see OKC become so urbanized. May I PM you or whatever it is called to give you information?

Please PM me. that would be great! i have asked before but no one helps me! I dont think anyone really is in charge of the OKC forum here(no one that is really from OKC). The only people that give comments are always implying some form of negativity. I would love the advice. thank you

Crasher, we depend on the locals from the area to be of help and answer questions. Jeffcandance has been to OKC and he is my partner mod on this forum. I have personally never been to OKC, but have been to Ok and love it there. So most of us Mods really don't know a lot about some of the areas we moderate. That's why we need the locals to post.

OKC is a lot like Ft. Worth but has a better personality and more going for it. I recall it being the capitol of Oklahoma with a huge capitol building. So that is of significance in its own right.

This subject of OKC not being a city is a joke. Looks like its been obviously tortured by negative opinions time and time again by ***********.

Can anyone give me information about the flat iron part of OKC downtown. I saw a lot of interesting projects. Can anyone give me an estimate of the cost of rent? I know it is very upscale. The designs have some buildings that look like Dallas. I saw one that was really reflective and cool on the exterior.
When I was living on OKC in 1973-74, going downtown in the evening or night was considered extremely risky - due to the high crime. I hope the talk here means that has changed.

OkC is 180 degrees different than it was in the 70s. Downtown is thriving, and safe. There are lots of things to do in Bricktown and the surrounding areas. I think you'd like it alot; downtown is in the midst of a total makeover.

What does it matter if OKC is bigger than XYZ city? It is a thriving city something that MANY of the so called larger cities in the country can not say. I find it interesting that many cities in the country are now considering mimicking ideas that orginated in OKC to revive and not having the success that OKC has had and continues to have. If it is an area that your comfortable with and enjoy living in then that is all that matters IMO.

Cities are communities that may be made up of several neighborhoods. A city is a municipal government created by the citizens through legislative special act and established through adoption of a charter.

A city government provides services to its citizens and sets up rules and regulations, called ordinances, that allow us to have a beautiful, safe and healthy place to live.

I would agree the bombing did put OKC on the map for the entire WORLD....So what is the point? What kind of terrorist act of that magnitude wouldnt put ANY city on the map? Ya, it was heard around the globe...duh. But now my friend...OKC is known for huge positive growth and not just for being a victim of a terrorist plot. You might want to do some research on the current state of OKC. You might find some recent information...It is like..What? 2007 going on 2008. I mean come on now....its been 12 yrs.

Dont you feel a lil' disgusted w/yourself for even bringing up a topic that killed 168 people as a reason to inadvertently argue that OKC is not a city?...Totally disgusting....
