Default What Will I Want to See in OKC?

We will one day plan a trip to OKC. What will we want to visit? We have seen Bricktown and the Cattletown, whatever it is called, but that is all?

I think you like interesting shops, so you might want to try Western between Britton Road and NW 23 (I think). This area is revitalized and has many new stores and restaurants. I mentioned on another post you would probably like Myriad Gardens, which is west of Bricktown, but still in downtown OKC. For regular shopping, Penn Square Mall. Give us a few hints about what you would like to see/do in OKC.

If you haven't been to the Oklahoma City Memorial, you should go. In Norman, if its not a football day, just seeing the University is a good trip, and Campus Corner is really interesting. I haven't been to the Rose Garden in Will Rogers Park and the Greenhouse in a while. Is that still worth visiting? On a weekend when its warm, go by Lake Hefner to see the sailboats, and those kite things people ride on. If you need any directions, just ask!

Also, the Oklahoma History Center near the Capitol, and the Capitol itself is fun to go inside and walk around. They have a lot of artwork in there, and the rotunda with the state state seal under the dome is pretty.

Default Lake Hefner, Anyone?

I know we've mentioned this already, but count me as another who highly recommends Lake Hefner. It's probably the most beautiful city lake that I have ever seen. It just adds to the northwest Oklahoma City landscape.

Marnie & Randy is on a distinguished road
And when you are at Lake Hefner, be sure and go to RedRock Canyon Restaurant. You can have drinks on their patio in the late afternoon and watch the sun go down. Beautiful! (You can see it from the restaurant, too, if you prefer the air conditioning.

Jessaka, be sure to let us know what you liked there and bring us PICS. (Picture addict here)

Happy, one of the sites you posted is something we just love. Do you know where there are pics of the Myriad Botanical Gardens? That waterfall looks beautiful and there is also another pic on that site with the gardens.

Hi Jammie. I think you would love the Botanical Gardens. On Opening Night, our New Year celebration downtown, they have had a jazz band playing while people follow the trails through the garden. Great to dance along and see the Garden with Christmas lights!
