Ursela,
I think you'll find OkC a great place to live, and as others have said employment there is good as the city is in quite a boom right now. Trucking is big as well due to it's central location and Interstates that intersect in OkC. As for racism; you'll find OkC to be a diverse city and open-minded. Good luck to you!
BTW, Louisville is a very beautiful city.

I finally went back to bed at 4:30 but still didn't really fall asleep. Maybe it's something in the air?

Louisville is less then half the population of OKC and crime is typically lower in smaller cities.
OP you might want to check out Tulsa which is in the NE part of Oklahoma. Tulsa is situated at the foothills of the ozarks and is beautiful. It is smaller then OKC and has a MWest feel to it. OKC is flatter and has a more SWest feel to it. Tulsa has a higher crime rate then OKC and def Louisville but Tulsas crime is mostly on the north part of town from what I hear. Just another city you might check out in Oklahoma. Good Luck!

Huh? Louisville is bigger in every population count, from city to metro. Louisville is a bigger city than Oklahoma City, and MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, it is a bigger metro, meaning it has more suburbs.
List of United States cities by population - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Table of United States Metropolitan Statistical Areas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So, I am not sure what would ever make you think OKC was twice as big! In reality, the two cities are about the same size, but Louisville is still a bit larger. Crime wise, they are probably similar. I find Louisville to have a more pleasant topography and to be a bit more vibrant than OKC, but both cities are nice and similar in some ways.

WOW. I stand corrected! Im sorry if I offended you.
I recieved the information from the Kentucky city list on city data....
Louisville, Kentucky (KY) (pop. 256,231)
City data should change it....Along with the crime index.
I was merely trying to help the OP because she/he had no clue about OKC or Oklahoma.
From the Wiki it most certainly looks like both cities are relatively the same size and the Louisville metro is 65,000 more in population. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have always heard from many sources that label the OKC/Metro as being the largest United States city/metro without a major league team. They should most certainly change that also!
My posts only gave praise to louisville. I only said WOW what a skyline. I never went into topography or vibrancy. I tend to WONDER why you would go into something of that nature. This was always a silly PAST issue between Tulsa and OKC.....

No problem...I need to have the stats corrected on city data. However, I am sure you know you should NEVER use city populations to compare cities. If you did, Louisville and OKC would be larger than Atlanta and Boston and we know that is not the case!!!

I was in Louisville 3 years ago for an Arabian National Horse Show. (My horse won, Yay) We stayed like most horse owners in a motel near the fairgrounds. It seemed a little run down in that area, and the fairgrounds horse facilities were not as nice as OKC's horse facilities.
We went downtown, and it had a cool area with nightlife. We enjoyed seeing the river, and went on a tour through southern Indiana. The fall leaves were very vibrant. We were told that the trees were maples. I was surprised to see here that Louisville is larger than OKC.
Louisville has one thing OKC doesn't: White Castle Hamburgers! Yum!

Oklahoma City
I recently just moved to Oklahoma City where they have a big gang problem. I think that the police in this city care more about sitting at the On-Cue corner store and chatting about their personal lives than patrolling the city. Everyday i watch the news there is always a shooting involving gang members. I wouldn't recommend anyone to waist their time coming to this city. It is very boring and not safe to even go down the street with out gang member approaching you. I was shot at by gang members and the police seemed to make me feel like it was my fault and i was minding my own business. So come the first of April, I'm heading back to Dallas where it is more safer. I feel like a prisoner in Oklahoma City. So if you are considering moving here I would recommend you to be ready for the worst part of living in this foreign land.
