I would like to add that what I say comes from working for the past 10 years in the criminal justice field.
Oklahomans have no idea what transpires in our fair state. And I am sure its like this all over. The media only covers a fraction of what happens.
I mean this literally, people. You need to keep your guard up. There are some very horrible crimes committed randomly. Even in rural areas. I often ask the offender why they picked that particular victim, and 9 times out of 10, they say they had made up their mind they were going to rob someone (or do whatever crime they committed), and that victim just happened to be the one who crossed their paths.
One of my jobs is to get the inmate's version of the crime(s). Some really scary stuff has transpired that never make it to the newsprint. I have some stories that would boggle your mind.
Now, I am not siding with Windy, but I am saying the state of OK has its share of senseless crimes committed against totally innocent people. And since I also covered the OK County jail, I can tell you, the amount of people being released before they are convicted AND sentenced to prison time is mind boggling.
I just want to remind everyone to be heads up and be aware of your surroundings, as I am sure most people are. Having said that, its not like Detroit or Los Angeles, and I am not in any way pointing the finger at any given race or ethnic group. So don't even go there.
So don't go walking around in the park or whatever after midnight just because you think it won't happen to you.
Now, I will put away my soapbox.

Ah for once the TRUTH !!
To everyone else,I never said Chicago was crime free that's ridiculous and comparing it to OKC is orange's to apples,But to have everyone here say OKC is a safe friendly all American town is complete BULL.If you live in Edmond,Nichols Hill's,Norman Moore,Middle upper class town ya your much safer,But if you live almost ANYWHERE in OKC watch your back !!
And ya taking the "L" train in these rough areas at 12AM wasn't the smartest thing I did,Will I do it again NO !! Just had to prove my point to my friend.
For what I have seen the transfer of inmates from other states to Ok and inner migration from other BIG cities has brought the bad people into OKC and sorry folks its here to stay
Ok,I'm done trying to prove my point its not worth my time anymore.

It's not worth your time because I've disproved every point you've made. You made statements that were false, and each time I showed you the error of those statements.

Let the Windy blow away, synopse. Some people are just not happy campers, and nothing can change their mindset.
The demographics PROVES the prison population is NOT overloaded with illegals. Heck, I WORK "behind the fence" on a daily basis. I KNOW what our prison demographics are like.
I even worked Lexington A&R, which is where all incoming inmates come in initally from all the OK county jails to be processed. Windy never showed a citation for the 50% crime drop figure he mentioned. That sounds like P&OC rhetoric.
If the incoming OK county jail inmates were 50% illegals, then the statement might have merit, but they aren't. I have seen the rosters for the entire OK jail. That is not just a rhetorical statement.
Sad to say, criminals come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Rarely does an angry person appreciate being shown the errors of his or her ways/thoughts. They cling to their theories as a way to justify their anger, most of the time at themselves. Peace be with you, Windy. I hope you find some happiness in your life.

There are many flea markets and swap meets in OKC, and Tulsa too. Some are indoors, some outdoors. If your prices are good, you should do well.

If your looking for a safe area stay away from
I am currently living off from NW13th St. If you are looking for a safe area for your family stay away from NW13th and NW23, there have been shootings every weekend for the last 3 months that I have been here.

It is very boring and not safe to even go down the street with out gang member approaching you. I was shot at by gang members and the police seemed to make me feel like it was my fault and i was minding my own business. So come the first of April, I'm heading back to Dallas where it is more safer. I feel like a prisoner in Oklahoma City. So if you are considering moving here I would recommend you to be ready for the worst part of living in this foreign land.

I think this comment is hilarious. I don't know much about OKC at all but I'm sure it's safer than Dallas ever could be. You're leaving OKC because they have a large gang presence? Have you been to Pleasant Grove and South Oak Cliff in Dallas? Those neighborhoods and several more are worse than anything in OKC with even a larger gang presence. I know every city has a hood and all but make it seem Dallas is just some perfect ville with hardly much crime. That is hilarious.

Lmao... Yes, let's not forget OKC is the gang capital of the world... It's a lot safer to walk around downtown OKC than it is Tulsa, I'll say that.
OKC's crime may be high for a city it's size but gimme a break dude. Dallas crime is much worse.
