Crews contain fire at vacant apartment complex | KFOR.com

These are the same apartments where pizza man Jeremy Moore was robbed and killed at back in 2008. The Apartments were condemned shortly thereafter (They are on NW 10th near Rockwell). Yet here we are almost 4 years later and they are still here. I live nearby in a neighborhood just north of 10th street where people take pride in their homes, and I don't like blighted and crime infested properties like this nearby, not to mention that the fires could get out of control and destroy the nearby neighborhoods. Not to mention that they are structurally unsafe even for the transients that are seeking refuge inside. These Apartments really need to be demolished for the safety and well being of our community.

I live in the area too and couldn't agree more! I recently found a group on Facebook called Friends of NW 10th Street and have contacted them to see what can be done to clean up this part of town.

Those are the former "Latana" apartments and you are right, they are a huge eye sore. I know several investors who have tried to buy them for $1,000 per door over the years, but whoever owns the land is being very stubborn about selling them at a cheap price. I am surprised OKC hasn't bulldozed them to the ground!
