Default neighborhood info needed

My family and I will be moving to OKC in December and are very excited. We are planning to rent a house for the first six month or so and then to buy a nice house probably in Edmond because of the good schools (although I would love to live in the downtown area but we would have to look into private schools, I guess). I was wondering if anyone could give me some info about a neighborhood called "The Greens" as I have found a nice house to rent there. I would like to know if it's a safe community and how convenient is the location for shopping and entertainment. Any help would be appreciated.

The Greens is a nice area! It's a pretty big neighborhood too. From what I know, it's a great community, nice people, close to shopping, etc. I would recommend people to move there....
Good luck!
Shari

The Greens is a very safe neighborhood. In fact a large PO station is located on 122nd just south from The Greens. The Greens is a short hike north from Lake Hefner and a short hike south from the Mercy hospital complex. A short drive to the NE on Memorial Rd. and you will find Quail Springs mall and a huge number of box stores and chain restaurants. Everything along Memorial is new...convenient...well planned...and clean. Val Verde and Bocage (gated community) are west of The Greens and have larger nicer homes. Also Quail Creeks N side is just east across Lake Hefner Pky and is very nice and older than Greens/Val Verde/Bocage.

Lake Hefner and area..Has a large development for entertainment. Bars/Rests/Huge jogging trails/Wind surfing and other sports/sailboats/fishing/golf/Lots of kite flying/marinas/Dog parks/RC Airplane runway.

Quail Springs Mall
Memorial Rd./Nice Bars and High scale chains.
Martin Nature Park
Mercy Hospital complex and other independent doctors.
Martin Nature park
Many country clubs/golf
Heritage Hall private school.
good luck

Thank you so much. We are excited and it seams like there are many nice people to meat there. I will share our first impressions after we get settled.
