Thats funny muppet but the team will more than likely change names to kill the drama. Hopefully!

In an effort to keep you informed on as many subjects as possible, I will tell you that, according to a Seattle Times columnist today, the most popular baby names in Washington are Emma and Jacob. He goes on to say that the least popular names are Clay and Bennett.

Well it looks to be finally official. OKC is getting a NBA team as soon as Bennett gives seattle enough money to buy out the lease.
The improvements for the Ford Center should still happen though. So vote yes on March 4th.
"Lawyers also indicated a willingness to work with the city and NBA in order to allow Seattle to retain the "Sonics" name for future use".
Time to come up with some names for the new team!!
My choice is OKC 89ers. Doubt it will happen though.
Council leaves door open to buyout

Notice how the Ford Center/OKC is represented quite well.

too bad Clay Bennet doesn't want to keep the Sonic name because it fits Oklahoma with Tinker AFB and Sonic Foods.
instead of the Sonics, how about the Booms!

I know....Supersonic transportation actually occured in OKC and it didnt in Seattle. The booms rocked the homes near Tinker during the experiments.

Lets have some fun and just think of some possible real names, instead of acting like its funny and stupid/belittle.
Im just curious of some possible serious names. Since it will be representing Oklahoma as a STATE.
Im a REAL TRUE BLUE OKIE, so maybe I feel a little different from others who are not even from the state of Oklahoma on this forum or dont live here.
There is a chance the NBA will not even come!!...But I seriously doubt it.

I like the name Thunderbirds.
If they do come, I will be getting one of those mini packs. The ones where you buy the same seats for like 8 games. My son and grandson would enjoy going to the games together.
