(1) In 1889 we were dealing with the Oklahoma Land Run.....

(2) In 1849 we were dealing with the San Francisco Gold Rush..

(3) In 1776 we were dealing with the birth of our Country the U.S.A.

I'm a Oklahoma Native that migrated to the golden state of California ,and
find it incredible that Oklahoma is finally getting a Professional Sports Team.I'm
looking forward to seeing both Tulsa and OKC being true World Class
Progressive Cities.

I've never been much of a fan of the "ers" names. That's in California anyway

Yes, I think the '49ers football name came from the famous 1949 "holding of the hands" for world peace. All in all, there were 10,000 people at that event. A lot of people think it's related to the 1849 gold rush, but don't believe one minute of it.

And the 76ers, the Philadelphia basketball team. I think they were formed in 1976 so everyone just called them "the 76ers."
