There are so many housing developments I can't keep track of them all. I don't know that there are named neighborhoods. People usually identify where they live by housing development, like Coffee Creek, Steeplechase, etc. Some of them have neighborhood associations with covenants and dues and assessments, so you want to check on that.
Some of them have golf courses, ex. Fairfax, Coffee Creek, and Oak Tree. Those are pretty expensive and the dues are high. Some have swimming pools and most people like those if they have kids. Some just have greenbelt areas with ponds and walking areas.
Have you googled Edmond, OK, and looked at the map? The areas east of Broadway would be east Edmond. I like all these areas east of Broadway and west of I-35 but most are not new. These are convenient to local shopping but no really big malls.
East of I-35 is more rural in feel but you are still in Edmond. This area is being rapidly built and will lose some of that in the future, probably. The section roads are 2 lane now but in time will become busier and will probably have to be widened in the future. These newer developments have pretty homes with big lots and some have large (for us) mature trees and small lakes etc. I think the zip code for all east Edmond is 73034 if you want to look at realtor.com.
West Edmond is nice too and my kids live in that area. The flatness bothers me though, but it doesn't bother them. They said they thought they got more house for their money there, and they both like being close to Quail Springs Mall.
Hope this helps.
