Foggy day pics in east Edmond (Tulsa, Norman: new house, neighborhood, university)

Sorry to have so much fog in the pics, but that was the day I was there.

About Coffee Creek & Air Depot. Much of the area is still pretty rural, but many new developments have been built.

You can go out and pick your Christmas tree.



I think I'm on Midwest, or Douglas



Lots of horses live in east Edmond.

I've always liked this farm house. We are on Danforth now.




Crossing I-35 heading west into higher density Edmond.



This is not a mega church.



Neighborhood street off Danforth.




House close to UCO.



Old North at the University of Central Oklahoma.



Nice house south of UCO.



Smaller house south of the university, but still nice.



Next: downtown Edmond

Thanks so much for sharing those pictures. Edmond is the area we're considering and this gives me an idea what the area looks like. We were back there last summer, but we were in the western part of Edmond and I've heard it's not as green as the eastern part. I'm looking forward of seeing the downtown section and shopping centers in the area..We girls love our shopping..

Thanks for the pics, Peggy. I agree, that "foggy day" look really gave it an interesting appeal. I LOVED the big house. In fact, last night DD and I were watching "A Christmas Story" and I shouted "that's the house I want!" I love the house in that movie (sans the lamp) lol. DH reminded me that in the movie he was always blowing out the fuses and the furnace was always a problem. I don't care, I love that house!

Colleen, I like older houses with character so much more than the new ones, that all look pretty much alike to me. A well maintained older house will not really have that many problems, IMO.

I love east Edmond, it's generally rural and hilly, yet close to town still. West Edmond is growing by leaps and bounds and probably has better access to stores and such. The land leaves much to be desired though, flat and cookie cutter to say the least.

Peggy, those pics are so pretty and I've got to agree that the "foggy look" actually makes them prettier. I noticed that there was no snow on the ground, just a bit of frost there with a few icicles. Was Edmond spared from the ice storm and the follow-up snow the past couple of weeks?

No, not at all. The snow mainly missed the area but they picked up an inch or two. If I gathered the information correctly from the west Edmond thread this was the morning before the snow hit. Hince, no snow. The ice had melted by then as well.

Hi Jammie

In the pics that was 5 or 6 days after the ice storm, and most of the ice had melted by then. Edmond had some damage, but not like parts of OKC, Norman, and up through Tulsa. The trees I saw in Edmond that were damaged/destroyed were ornamental type trees not native to Oklahoma.

Like Nameless said, they had an inch or too of snow in Edmond later, but I was back in Holdenville by then.
