Default Old Downtown Library getting make over for condos!

Another ugly getting some love. The old downtown library which was replaced by a fantastic new one via Maps will be getting a really nice new facade!! and will be made into more condos. OKC is really starting to draw in people to live downtown

There's a new library? I'm so excited. Libraries are my favorite places. I order books online from my library so often the librarians don't have to look up my phone number to call me when they're in, and when I go in I don't even show my library card, they have my number memorized. LOL! Where is the new library?

I dont have a front pic, which is really cool, but here are some from the side of the library. Great facility.
Its down this street...The all white building to the right.

It has a huge rotunda with pics of OKC history/buildings

Here is my fav side to sit and read. It has grand rooms for conferences that I sneak into to enjoy complete silence...You get a tremendous view sitting in these huge rooms...really nice.

The OKCMOA is right across the street that has the best independent films and visual art.

Here is a map and stuff that can help you get to know your new freind!

I just love that scene with the clock and the water behind it. Even a lot of small towns have started having a sort of "town square" with the old fashioned clock. We even got a clock a few years ago and it just adds something to a town.

Nice pictures and article, HT.

I spent many hours in the old library. I wonder if they will keep the same elevator. I'm glad they are doing something with the building, though. I think it would be a very cool place to live.
