City of Nichols Hills - HOME
Nice pics Cali....

This is called the Olverholser Mansion
Here is some history...many Mansions with names are in Heritage Hills.
Overholser, Henry (Mansion)

Nichols Hills has one of the most unique histories of any city in the United States. At one point in time NH was actually in the top 25 richest cities in the U.S.
Happy you enjoy the area.....I most certainly do. The parks are wonderful. If you have a dog then you should visit the doggie fountain to let it cool off/drink after a long walk.

I think Ponca City has the first house in the world with central air conditioning...if memory serves me correctly.
More useless trivia like the fact that OKC was the first city to install parking meters.
;P

"The concept of air conditioning is known to have been applied in Ancient Rome, where aqueduct water was circulated through the walls of certain houses to cool them. Similar techniques in medieval Persia involved the use of cisterns and wind towers to cool buildings during the hot season".

But that definitely doesnt take away from the The Marland Mansion which is an incredible home.

On another note....

Considering all the well established cities around the U.S. and the World and the mass amount of parking meters everywhere and the significance of them. It is actually phenomenal that OKC invented and had the very first one!! Although I already knew this fact along with other inventions in OK, I never really realized the significance given that OKC was founded in the very late 1800s.
