Arrow Skirvin Hotel - Pre-Renovation

I have gotten several emails & phone calls requesting the I post the pictures I took of the skirvin hotel, back before renovation. These pictures have been floating around on the web in several places, and most of the links are broken. So without further adieu...

Wow...Emails and phone calls for pictures of a grand old hotel in decay to be posted on this site!!!
Thats exactly what it was just a few yrs ago. An old hotel with tons of history that has now been completely renovated and brought back to life.
Do you happen to have any pictures of what it is now? Considering how beautiful it is. It was a 4 star hotel the day the hotel was opened again which rarely happens.
Now those would be way interesting. and a little more positive.

Here it is now....

Quite the contrast between the renovated and unrenovated pictures. I'm glad it turned out so well.

What a beauty! She is Grand! I'll bet it costs a pretty penny to stay in such a historical place; I'd love to spend the night in that masterpiece of architecture.

I read every word of the article. Do you realize it's almost exactly one year (Feb 26 2007) since this grand lady re-opened?

Thank you HT!

It is not expensive at all - like $130 or so per night - and some specials.
You do have to check the calendar.

Thanks. The next time I will need to spend the night in OkC on business, I'll ask my company to put me up there. $130 a night is reasonable as far as business travel goes and is about average for a room. I wouldn't doubt that my company has a corporate discount anyway.

That hotel is really beautiful. I really don't know of too many more that could outclass her.

I'm bookmarking this website. Thanks!

It was such a nice day that I went for a Sunday afternoon drive through far NW OKC and Piedmont. Some of the pics are sub par but I was driving and snapping so forgive me.

Just west of Council on Expressway:

They are building these apartments right behind my neighborhood:

Other neighborhood tennant:

The new mile of cars between Council and County Line on Expressway:

The following pics are in Surrey Hills:

Mustang rd south of Surrey Hills:

Colony Pointe (Northeast corner of Expressway and Piedmont rd):

Deer Spring (Just north of Colony Pointe):

Piedmont:

Boondocks:

This is Edmond rd just a mile east of Piedmont rd turning into smuck...:

These guys looked surprised to see a car:

This stop sign was about 2 feet tall and looked like it had bullet holes:

Northwood (NW Expressway and Frisco rd):

Look at these trees blooming, Jammie

Boondocks again:

I have no clue where this is but somewhere in the vicinity of 200 some north and 3 or 4 miles west of highway 4. A dog came out from behind the corner chasing me:

NW OKC:

Just crossed over the turnpike on Council:

Cobblestone:

That's all for now. Next time (who knows when) I'll try to cover Deer Creek and West Edmond.
