My family and I are moving to OKC in june we are looking for houses. My realator is sending me alot of houses in NW OKC. I have read all the post and some most pll say that is a good area . It seems alot of the houses are west of May ave. from 10th to 36th street i saw a really cute one on 23rd that we really like and are thinking about bidding on. I have never lived in OKC and really need some input from pll that live there about this area. Any and all input will be a great help.

Calling HappyTown!
Brenda hang tight, someone will be around here eventually to help you out. I would but don't live there. OkC is a great place though; I'm sure you'll like it there.

merryfim,
We are trying to get a cute 2 bedroom we have several children between us and they are all out of the house except the baby who is 12 so we are greatly downsizing. Ha Ha no room for anyone to move back in lol. But the price range is under a hundred thousand. |

100 grand is not much money for a historic house that is in a good part of OKC. I was looking at Carey Place the other day and found a wonderful home for around 135. It has a gingerbread home kinda feel. All wood floors ect. really charming 1650 feet/2 beds. Google....Oklahoma City /Carey Place /houses for sale or something like that and it will pop up. I cant give you the exact link because it is considered sales/advertising on the forum.
Give me exact streets and intersections and I can actually Google and tell you if the street/area is good or not! I have been roaming for houses myself of late and have a current view about NW OKC. ![]() |

Is it actually on 23rd? If it is then prepare for a lot of traffic. 23rd street is very busy. But overall if you are looking for something under a 100 it might be your best bet. You will find many homes in the tudor style on 23rd and May.
Check out Gatewood historic neighborhood because you are just west of it. Its across the street from OCU and it has been improving lately. ![]() here is a link...scroll down and you will also see carey place on the 'menu' Gatewood Historic District: Neighborhood History |

I would look at openhouseok.com,mlsgateway.com, and obeo.com and see if you can find something. You may want to look outside the metro if you want the small town feel but be within a reasonable commute distance to Okc such as Newcastle, Tuttle, Mustang, Yukon, Piedmont, Choctaw , Blanchard ect.. Of course reasonable is always uip for debate and depends on where you are planning to work within Okc.
