How bad and how much is your snowfall in OKC? We are really very interested in possibly moving here from Albuquerque. Love your architecture. I work from home. We need to be close to Yukon.

Rare. About 2 to 3 dustings every year with a real snow which covers the ground more than a day or so about every 3 to 4 years.

Ice is a much bigger issue and we Okies don't drive well in it.

Certainly varies on a year to year basis. This year there was essentially no snow. Most years there is some but not a lot. Then there are some years there are two or three significant snowfalls but rarely more than that.

OKC averages 9 inches of snow a year.

However as B&C says, you can count on 2 or 3 ice storms a winter. If there is not a warm up the ice can last for several days and can be really aggravating.

Just enough snow to get your fix, but not a lot. Plan on 2 or 3 significant snowfalls each winter. This year was well below normal in terms of snow for central Oklahoma.

When it does snow, it usually only stays on the ground for a few days because it warms up to above freezing.

We got here in November. A few flurries, two ice storms, a very pleasant Spring.

Hasn't really snowed at all this year. It changes year to year. Some years we get hit harder and have snow on the ground for weeks, but this year has been mild to say the least.

Blizzards are quite rare in OKC but they do happen, like the unforgettable Great Christmas Eve Blizzard of 2009.

This is it. I live in Yukon, and we don't get significant snow every winter. Like B&C said, ice is a much bigger issue when it happens, but we don't always have that either. We usually have mild winters, and people flip out. I hope they're never in the northern states during winter. I hardly wore my winter coats at all this winter, here.

The biggest issue with me is the summer. I hate the summer. It seems this sun is always glaring bright, and causes a lot of accidents. You simply can't see because of the sun, at times.
We don't have a lot of overcast days. It's hot. It's very hot. Last summer was the nicest summer I remember, if I had to pick one. One summer we moved our walking to 11:00 PM, and it was still over 100 degrees, and we couldn't hardly breathe. so we had to quit. More people move away from here because of the summers than anything else. At least the people I know.

I barely notice the heat because everywhere I go is air-conditioned.

Some businesses are so chillingly cold during the summer, I wonder how they can afford to pay their electric bills.
