Default Clock repair service suggestions??

I have my grandmother's mantel chime clock but it needs repair. Any suggestions on whom I should take it to for quality and reputatable service. I just wondered if anyone had personal experience or has heard good things about a particular place. Thanks.

I used A Better Time Service on south western and was quite happy with their work and prices.

I met the people that own Michael's Clocks and was impressed with them but haven't used them. They have a lot of nice clocks.

Our grandmother clock chimes 1 time less than the actual time. Example: it will chime 4 times when it is 5 o'clock.

Any simple answers?

You might need to check into a repair or even call them and ask. It's probably is very simple.I can't wait to get our fixed so it will chime again. The sound of it always reminds me of being at my grandparents' home.

I took my grandmother's clock to Michael's. VERY NICE people, I spoke mostly to the grandson. They took the time to tell me all about my clock (special features, maker, year it was built, etc.) and gave me a tour of their building. There is a three month waiting list for clock repairs!!!! My estimate for my repairs are $450...no lie! I debated on whether to fix the clock or not and I have decided to. Afterall, it is one of the only things that I have that belonged to my grandparents.

I would have done the same thing, but one day you might pass that clock down to your grandchildren. I'm glad everything worked out well.

clockman1631 is on a distinguished road
If you haven't got your clock fixed it's a simple fix, your hour hand is put on by friction, so just move it to the hour it strikes and make sure it's pushed back snug. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your suggestion, but my lovely almost 100 year clock really was on the fritz and required a rebuild of the internal mechanical fixture. I have already had the clock fixed and it has been wonderful since I have had it home.
