For whatever reason, Tulsa doesn't seem to be growing at quite the same rate as OKC. Tulsa has a lot of built-in advantages but that doesn't seem to be translating into a population boom. I think Tulsa is one of the more underrated and overlooked cities in the country.

I moved to Oklahoma City in 2013. It's nice driving around and seeing all the growth that's going on and is planned. I wish we had the kind of growth that cities like Dallas and Austin are having, but at the same time, I prefer nice and steady growth. It keeps the cost of living down and allows cities time to adjust (hopefully) to the changes.

Very close but no cigar......
The powers that be mainly the city fathers who are Republicans have always sought to keep Tulsa small to prevent it from becoming a city with a democratic majority.. in other words a blue city.
Meaning that the number one reason why tulsa hasn't crossed that Golden Milestone of 1 million Metro population or perhaps even two million Metro population is because very poor , you heard me right bad leadership in city government , which OKC doesn't seem to have.
OKC is most likely to be a blue Democratic City by 2020 or at the latest 2022 or 2024 everybody start biting your lips.... LOL.... falling out of my chair.

I do not want Oklahoma City to become a Austin or maybe a Dallas , which would cause the city to be much too expensive to live in and cause it to lose some of its luster.
