Chess might build one anyway! Or maybe OKC will snag an oil company in the region and they will build. OKC is experiencing so much success that its really hard to believe and the title of being a NBA city will draw more more companies to the CBD.

Thanks TU for having a positive opinion about OKC. Many people dont realize the changes that OKC is going through and has accomplished. I can understand why though, all of this incredible development has happened in the last 10 yrs. Hopefully people will eventually catch on. Most are still stuck in the eighties on this forum

I still love' em anyway.

Not a problem at all. I plan on moving to OKC when I am of the age.

OKC is experiencing quite a bit right now, a very progressive time for OKC. And I love Mick for it.

Core to Shore is very slowly but has already began implementation.
Ford Center renovations, the Ford Center is going to be awesome.
New skyscraper, probably going to be at least 650-700 feet tall. That of course is awesome, especially for Oklahoma.

Just things like that. OKC is hopping and I hope it can keep it up to compete with the other major cities, OKC seems to be climbing up the tier ladder, OKC's closing in on tier 2 isn't it? But the one thing, with all this new development and the population steadily increasing, keep that friendliness. Don't become like all the other big cities where no one knows how to smile at you and can't even manage to wave a hand. (not speaking for all the other big cities, just a few lol)

I hope with this some big residential developers come into town with 300 foot condo towers. I've been waiting to see that. Those would continue to add on to the skyline and make it look great. Imo.
A lot of downtowns are going that way. Austin is a classic example and that place will be dramatically different by 2010. The same could happen in OKC and I would love to see it happen. And I certainly am looking forward to the renderings and will even plan to save same to my favorites.

Good ol' urbanism. Stack everyone on top of eachother. Some residential towers are really neat looking.

Default chesapeake campus

Aesthetics aside, there are numerous benefits to Chesapeake's development approach both for the company, its employees and Oklahoma City in general.

While it might be nice to have another tower added to the skyline, do not ignore the incredible economic surge occurring from belle isle thru wilshire as a result of Chesapeake Energy. while i am not a fan of the aesthetics, there is some comfort in the connection between their namesake and their development approach.

Yes, obviously chess has greatly improved the quality of life in OKC, especially the campus near Nichols Hills. Aubreys' big plans for the plaza etc. will all cause lots of great development and basically make NH like Highland Park in Kansas or Dallas. The future plans have already greatly increased the value of homes in the Nichols Hills area.

I have always enjoyed the quality of the campus in general. It is designed by Rand Elliott that uses Georgian architecture which basically looks like the OSU campus.

This shows the location the new tower will be in. This is not an actual rendering.

Check it out.

It really shows how the skyline will greatly improve. Although I imagine the tower will be taller with a wayyy better design.

I would really like to see the Chase tower install reflective glass, similar to what they did in the Founders tower renovation.
