If you have that kind of pushy attitude.......sort of an "in your face" aggressiveness, you might very well find what you are looking for. If you realize that most of us native, multi generation Okies have had grand-parents and great grandparents who were discriminated against (until it became cool to be NA, Native Americans were no better than their black neighbors), then you might understand that we really don't give a damn what color your skin is. We do, on the other hand, measure the character of the individual.
I agree. I always say, there are rude, ignorant, SOB's in every race. People are people. I don't look at what color your skin to call you a bone head if your acting like one.

As one of mixed heritage who is considering a move to OK, what would happen to a brown-skinned person who stepped foot in Marlow...or any other small town in OK? What would happen to a ******, as you say, jayc666?

Nothing... jayc666 is just a troll, we get them from time to time here in the forum. Post has been reported and should be deleted by our Mod soon.

What is your mix?

mine is Cherokee, Polynesian, Irish, Swiss and Redneck............as a racist, I basically don't have much use for me.....

I've spent a little time in Marlow, although LR and MK would know more than I would about it, and I thought it was a pretty decent place.

I also notice you don't have a whole lot of posts on here yet, but you seem to be asking the "right" questions and making the right comments As times goes on you will frequently find people like jayc666 posting one or two hateful things then disappearing. I suspect mr/ms jayc666 is going to be like that, although I will be glad to be shown where I am wrong. But by incorporating the 666 in their name indicates they are not a serious poster, including that just to rile the born agains that post on here, and likely has no real idea as to what they are talking about.

Hi,

Thanks for your repleis. I just joined yesterday as I have been reading the blogs and looking to see what life in OK is like. I think I have about narrowed places to live down to small towns like Luther, Noble, Tuttle.....so I was shocked to see something like the post using *'s for the n word. I figured with the 666 in the handle that the poster may just want to rile folks up, but I wanted to know what would happen.

My mix is eclectic: Cherokee, Irish, Blackfoot and "Black" from all I know. Personally I don't see color and hate people being seen as black, white, etc. It is character that counts in spite of me being a child of the 60s and civil rights, bussing, hoses turned on us and being refused to be served when we were supposed to be "integrated". To me, that behavior is just ignorant. I've seen all sorts of racism from one racce to another here in the Baltimore area and am ready for a change. I grew up in TN and NC, have done homeland missions all along the East Coast and have had people draw shotguns on us even though we were there to help them after natural disasters. This was 1999. I was amazed but not really surprized. I'm just looking for a relatively quiet, peaceful place to live out my life, so was curious whether small town OK was a bad idea as much of what I read was positive with some posters saying stick to the city...something I want to get away from. I am in my house now, windows closed, a/c humming and can hear some wonderful person's music blaring from their car since they believe we all should have the privilege of enjoying their tunes. Ahhhh.

Any other questions, just ask, and thanks for taking the time to reply:-)

We pretty much sit in our houses with windows closed and AC going full blast, especially this time of year. It's suppose to be in the upper 90" all week!

I'm English, Irish, French, German, Polish and Bohemian. Mostly, like everyone else, I'm an American and proud of it!

I wasn't even born during the race riots and I'm the first of my family to live in OK. I have read about them though. Must have been horrible for those involved.

This is not the Peggy Davis who lived in Long Beach, CA in the mid 70's on Locust St would it be? Our daughters played together if so. My daughter is now 41 and I have lived in OKC for 11 years now. J.T.N.

Great job! I really really feel the same way this is my first time replying, as I have only posted once and recieved no replies.........I am looking to move to OK in the summer.......just want a quiet place to call home, raising a teenager, coming from an "island" so lots of changes coming my way....I think people in general are looking for the same things, decent homes, safe neighborhoods, decent pay for decent days work, cheap gas , and to make a friend here and there........we will only learn how to come together one at a time and when we conquer this we will truly become a "human race"
