Try Tucson, where the growth is moving to, and is already moving. Phoenix has turned a bit humid hot, not tolerable to some. Tucson, the broader area including S, SW, SE is drier, more reasonable housing and so very accessible by fine highways to Tucson for work. I am moving to Tucson southernmost outside city limits, left IL last year-a dead state. Rio Rico, Marana, Sahurita, Santa Rosa
Springs appeal to me.

You thought wrong.
National - Average Days of Precipitation
150 a year. Still quite a bit rainier than OKC.

Thats an exaggeration. It is overcast to mostly cloudy 2/3 of the year, but it doesn't rain or even drizzle every time it gets cloudy here. The rain reputation is overblown, it's really more cloudy than rainy.

Well i suggest that there are 3 great cities in the southwest: Denver, Albuquerque, & Phoenix.
Denver-Its a beautiful green city with great views and low pollution levels average summer temp 91F and record 109F.
Albuquerque-A Non-stop growing city that is becoming safer, more green and the real-estate is great ..affordable living with low crime rates as of this year as well including those great views and amazing culture! the average temp in the summer is 93F and the record is 114F.
Phoenix-Great city to live if you love the hot spicy weather it is also a growing metro area and still very affordable. Its a great place and with low crime levels aswell, average temp in summer 102F and the record 123F.

Denver is Southwest?? When did this happen?
And Albuquerque? I'll have to disagree with you there, but Phoenix maybe..

Oklahoma is a dream compared to the nightmare that is Phoenix. Take it from me--I've lived in Phx for over 30 years. Here is why Phx sucks:
1. in 2006, Phx had over 24,000 car thefts, over 230 murders, and over 16,000 burglaries.
2. bieng covered in blowing dust constantly
3. Rude people
4. wall to wall illegals who dont speak English
5. HOT, HOT, HOT
6. Right to work state (employers can fire you at will)
7. HUGE air pollution problem
8.traffic is ridiculous.
Need I say more?
